We have an opening for an experienced Mainframe Developer .

This position is remote; however, you must live in the United States (no exceptions) and you must have lived in the U.S. fulltime for three of the last five years.

This position requires :

• Recent (the past two years) mainframe development experience , U.S.
• Citizenship or Green Card (no exceptions, also no 1099, C2C, or recruiters), a background investigation to obtain a Public Trust Security Clearance Job Summary As a Mainframe Developer, you will take on interesting challenges both sustaining and modernizing multiple programs.
• Responsibilities and Duties Design, code, unit test, and debug enhancements and fixes to the health claims processing system while adhering to strict coding standards.
• Participate as a key contributing member of a persistent development team supporting maintenance and operations.
• Complete development to implement complex components within a legacy mainframe environment.
• Work under general direction to resolve defects, implement change requests, and support operational stability.
• Participate in design activities related to maintenance solutions.
• Demonstrate general use and application of development concepts, practices, and techniques.
• Design, prepare, and execute unit tests to validate change prior to release, and represent team to clients.
• Provide solutions to a variety of technical problems.

Apply technical knowledge to deliver maintenance solutions across one or more technology areas.

Apply company and 3rd party technologies to software solutions of moderate complexity.

• Implement end-user or enterprise solutions of moderate complexity with only general direction provided.
• Integrate technical expertise and business understanding to create stable and reliable solutions for clients.
• Consult with team members and other organizations, clients, and vendors on complex issues.
• Provide time and resource estimates for assigned tasks and projects.
• Assist in development solutions to complex business and technology problems in areas of proven expertise.
• Develop standards, guidelines, and best practices.
• Qualifications - Required 4-5+ years of professional experience as a Mainframe Developer Proficiency with mainframe technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, TSO and VSAM.
• Ability to perform well in a highly rigorous, structured development environment.
• Demonstrated experience as a software developer in a mainframe environment.
• Demonstrated ability to determine and decompose business and technical requirements.
• Strong communication skills and technical writing ability.
• Ability to develop application solutions and provide accurate estimates.
• Must be able to achieve and maintain Public Trust clearance.

Qualifications - Preferred Industry experience:

• Insurance (claims), Healthcare (Medicare or Medicaid claims processing).

Familiarity with development and collaboration tools:

• GitHub, Jira, Confluence, Eclipse (IDz/RDz) Experience with application lifecycle methodology, specifically Agile/Scrum.
• Experience with Assembler language in a mainframe environment.
• Experience with DevOps/DevSecOps tools and frameworks through plan, define, build, test, release, and deploy processes.

• Actual starting salary will be determined based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to relevant experience, skills, qualifications, education, geographic location, and internal compensation considerations.
