Operating for 40 years, RCS' current portfolio is comprised of over 18 million square feet of commercial, single tenant net lease, multi-family, and residential/resort properties representing more than $2.8 billion in market value, located across North America. RCS has a highly active investment platform and plans to acquire an additional $1 billion in real estate over the next few years.

About the Role

RCS seeks a highly curious, analytical, and intellectually engaged Analyst/Research Associate with a strong interest in real estate, real estate market cycles, economics, and business trends. This position offers a unique opportunity to work closely with the CEO on research, strategic initiatives, competitive analysis, and written communications. The successful candidate will be responsible for exploring complex topics, conducting thoughtful research, identifying trends and opportunities, and translating findings into clear, concise, and actionable insights.

The ideal candidate is someone who enjoys asking questions, challenging conventional thinking, connecting information from multiple sources, and developing a deeper understanding of what drives successful real estate investments and businesses.

What You'll Do

Responsibilities:

• Conduct in-depth research on real estate markets, investment opportunities, economic trends, business strategies, and emerging industry developments and any initiatives that the CEO is currently analyzing.
• Identify and evaluate unique real estate and related business opportunities that may create value for RCS.
• Attend meetings with CEO and summarize, create follow-up and track progress and report back to CEO.
• Create action plans from CEO ideas and drive some to completion.
• Research competitors and analyze their strategies, with particular emphasis on identifying companies that are outperforming in leasing, operations, market positioning, and tenant retention.
• Investigate what successful competitors are doing differently and identify strategies, practices, and opportunities that could help RCS strengthen its competitive position.
• Work directly with the CEO to research, develop, and implement strategies designed to position RCS among the top 5% performing companies in the industry.
• Assist the CEO in developing, researching, and writing communications to employees, investors, and other key stakeholders.
• Capture ideas, observations, and questions generated by the CEO and conduct the research necessary to develop those ideas into meaningful analysis and actionable recommendations.
• Prepare research summaries, presentations, reports, and other written materials for the CEO and senior leadership.
• Monitor current events, economic developments, real estate trends, and historical market cycles that may have implications for RCS.
• Analyze information from multiple sources and synthesize complex topics into clear, concise conclusions.
• Conduct special projects and ad hoc research assignments requiring initiative, creativity, sound judgment, and attention to detail.
• Maintain organized, detailed research files, notes, data, and supporting documentation.
• Ability to travel 10 20%.

Qualifications

• Undergraduate or graduate degree in business, economics, finance, real estate, or a related field. An MBA with a real estate focus is preferred.
• Minimum of 23 years of experience in research, real estate, investment analysis, finance, economics, consulting, or a related field.
• Experience as an Analyst with research background.
• Exceptional research, analytical, writing, editing, and presentation skills.
• Strong understanding of real estate supply-and-demand fundamentals and how market conditions affect asset cash flow, valuation, and IRR.
• Ability to gather, evaluate, and synthesize information from multiple sources and translate it into clear, actionable insights.
• Ability to work independently, anticipate the needs of senior leadership, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, entrepreneurial environment.
• Highly organized, with excellent time-management skills, strong attention to detail, and a consistent commitment to meeting deadlines.
• Exceptional typing/keyboarding, listening, and note-taking skills, with the ability to accurately capture and organize substantial amounts of information during meetings and conversations.
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, with exceptional Excel skills, and strong working knowledge of OneNote.
• Ability to work a hybrid schedule and, when necessary, accommodate meetings, research assignments, and special projects outside of traditional business hours.

They are equally comfortable working independently on detailed research projects and collaborating with senior leadership on strategic initiatives.
