Job Description
We are seeking an experienced AS400 / IBM i Developer with strong WebSphere and EDI expertise to take full operational ownership of a homegrown port and logistics management platform. The proprietary IBM i core has evolved alongside IBM WebSphere to support critical, real-time port operations, including container tracking, terminal yard management, dispatching, and automated B2B data exchange.
The ideal candidate will perform code forensics on the custom legacy codebase, map existing WebSphere middleware integration channels, and become the primary Subject Matter Expert (SME) for the platform. This role will lead future AS400/IBM i development, modernize EDI data pipelines, optimize system performance, and provide Tier-3 support for the core port and logistics ecosystem.
Required Qualifications
Preferred: Experience in port operations, container terminals, freight forwarding, warehousing, transportation management systems (TMS), or logistics. Experience with PHP, Python, Node.js, Profound UI, Fresche, or Looksoftware is a plus.
