Role Overview

We are seeking an experienced Salesforce Functional Consultant to lead discovery and business analysis on Salesforce org assessment and revamp engagements. The ideal candidate combines strong Sales Cloud functional knowledge with hands-on experience analysing established, heavily customised orgs and turning what they find into recommendations a client can act on. This role works alongside a Solution / Technical Architect and a Technical Lead in a small senior team. The work is advisory: the consultant analyses the existing org, runs sessions with client subject-matter experts, and documents findings, requirements, and target-state design. No changes are made to the client production environment during the assessment.

Key Responsibilities

• Run discovery and requirements workshops with client stakeholders, including product owners, sales operations, administrators, and operations teams.
• Synthesise existing voice-of-the-customer material and workshop output into structured themes and requirements.
• Document current-state and future-state business processes, and produce a formal readback for client sign-off.
• Build inventories across the assessment dimensions: users and security, data and storage, automation and customization, reporting and analytics, integrations, platform health and limits, ecosystem and environments, and data quality.
• Analyse field utilisation to identify which fields are actively used and which can be hidden, consolidated, or retired.
• Profile data quality, including duplicate records, obsolete data, and overlapping business processes.
• Classify every item assessed: continue, rebuild, consolidate, or retire for configuration and automation; purge, archive, or keep for data and process.
• Contribute to the purge and archive plan that reduces org load and storage consumption.
• Recommend out-of-the-box Salesforce features and licensed modules in preference to custom development, and flag where custom work is genuinely required.
• Author assessment workbook entries, requirement documents, and process flows to a client-ready standard.
• Contribute to the roadmap, effort sizing, and prioritized backlog that supports the client investment decision.
• Support executive readouts and respond to client questions on findings within your assigned areas.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Experience: Minimum 5+ years of Salesforce experience, with at least 3 years in a consulting or professional services environment.
• Sales Cloud: Strong hands-on functional knowledge of Sales Cloud, including record types, page layouts, Dynamic Forms, sales processes and stages, opportunity management, validation rules, and Flow.
• Org assessment: Demonstrable experience analysing an existing Salesforce org, covering objects, fields, automation, reports, and security, and producing findings and recommendations from that analysis.
• Business analysis: Proven ability to elicit requirements, facilitate workshops, and document current-state and future-state business processes.
• Field & data analysis: Hands-on experience assessing field utilisation and data quality using reports, SOQL, Data Loader, or equivalent tools.
• Documentation: Demonstrated ability to author client-ready requirement documents, process flows, and assessment findings.
• Stakeholder engagement: Strong verbal communication skills, with the ability to lead working sessions with business and technical stakeholders, including senior audiences.
• Salesforce platform: Working understanding of the Salesforce data model, declarative automation, security model (profiles, permission sets, roles, sharing), and reporting.
• Tooling: Familiarity with Salesforce Optimizer, Security Health Check, and standard org analysis outputs.
• Delivery discipline: Experience working to fixed client milestones and delivering within short, time-boxed engagements.
• Governance: Comfortable operating with read-only access in a client production environment, following strict change control.
• Certification: Salesforce Certified Administrator.
• Teamwork: Collaborative team player who works effectively alongside architects, technical leads, and onshore/offshore teams.

Preferred Qualifications

• Salesforce Certified Sales Cloud Consultant or Salesforce Certified Business Analyst.
• Experience assessing or remediating long-lived, heavily customised Salesforce orgs carrying significant technical debt.
• Financial services, banking, payments, or card network domain experience.
• Experience producing assessment or roadmap deliverables presented to executive audiences.
• Familiarity with Salesforce CLI, metadata retrieve, or code analysis output such as PMD or Salesforce Code Analyzer.
• Exposure to multi-region, partner, or channel sales processes.
• Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Computer Science, or a related field.
