Staff Accountant | Enviremedial Services, Inc. We have been 100% employee-owned through our ESOP since 2018, and every employee-owner shares in the growth of the business at no cost to them.What does ESI doWe are a federal contractor providing facilities maintenance, water treatment, and other support services to military facilities across the country. We are looking for a Staff Accountant to join our accounting team, learn every corner of how it runs, and help keep our contracts and books accurate.What you will doMaintain our customer contract database in QuickBooks, and post invoices daily and as needed, keeping a close eye on contract complianceReview daily cash transactions and deposits, and post entries so accounts receivable and cash balances stay accurateHelp maintain prepaid and accrual general ledger accounts, including posting, reconciling, and managing supporting schedulesSupport the Accounting Controller with month-end and year-end closings, including accruals and reversals, asset and liability reconciliations, and timely revenue and expense recognitionPrepare financial analysis and reports for internal and external customers, such as job profitability, job costing, and labor hoursPitch in across the department, including accounts payable and payroll, and cross-train so you understand the full accounting processSupport and guide our divisions and employees when they have questionsFollow company policies and stay in compliance with state and federal laws and GAAPWhat skills you bring5+ years of accrual accounting and general ledger experienceStrong Excel skills, including pivot tablesSolid understanding of income statement and balance sheet fundamentals (preferred)QuickBooks experience (preferred)Sharp attention to detail and strong organizational skillsClear written and verbal communicationThe ability to meet tight deadlines and think critically to resolve issuesDiscretion with confidential informationComfort with technology, multi-tasking, and a fast-moving environmentWhy you will like working hereOwnership that grows with youESOP: ESI makes yearly contributions of stock or cash to your ESOP account. Coverage begins the first of the month after 30 dayspany-paid life and AD&D ($25,000 each) and long-term disability (60% of monthly earnings, up to $8,000 a month), at no cost to you.Benefit eligibility: medical, dental, and vision are available to full-time employees regularly scheduled for 30+ hours per week.
