MDC Contractors Corp. is seeking an experienced Estimator to join our team.


We are based in Brooklyn and perform work throughout all five boroughs, working with many of New York City’s leading general contractors. Our primary scope of work is civil and sitework, and we are looking for someone with strong estimating experience in this field.

About the Role:
MDC Contractors Corp is looking for a skilled Civil Estimator to join our growing team in Brooklyn, NY! This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in shaping project success by delivering accurate, competitive bids across a range of civil construction projects. If you thrive in a fast-paced environment and have a sharp eye for detail, we want to hear from you.



Responsibilities:

• Prepare detailed cost estimates for civil construction projects including site work, utilities, and infrastructure
• Analyze project plans, specifications, and bid documents to develop accurate quantity takeoffs
• Solicit and evaluate subcontractor and supplier quotes to ensure competitive pricing
• Collaborate with project managers and field teams to align estimates with project scope and execution plans
• Track and manage multiple bids simultaneously while meeting strict deadlines
• Maintain and update cost databases, historical data, and estimating templates
• Attend pre-bid meetings, site walks, and client presentations as needed

Requirements:

• 3-5+ years of experience in civil construction estimating
• Proficiency in estimating software such as Bluebeam, Planswift, or similar platforms
• Strong understanding of civil construction methods, materials, and site work
• Ability to read and interpret civil engineering drawings and specifications
• Excellent analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving skills
• Strong communication and negotiation skills for vendor and subcontractor coordination
• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred
