IBM Maximo Consultant

Summary
We need a senior IBM Maximo architect to own the technical design of our enterprise asset management platform. You will lead the move from Maximo 7.6 to Maximo Application Suite on cloud infrastructure, design how Maximo integrates with enterprise systems, and lead the delivery team. You should have 10 15 years in IT and most of that on Maximo, having progressed from consultant or developer to lead and architect.

Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end solution architecture for IBM Maximo: target state, environment topology, integration design and non-functional requirements.
- Plan and lead upgrade and migration work from Maximo 7.6 to Maximo Application Suite (MAS), including assessment, sizing, cutover and rollback planning.
- Design the integration architecture between Maximo and ERP, finance, reporting and other enterprise systems, using MIF and REST/SOAP web services.
- Define hosting and deployment approaches for Maximo on AWS or Azure, working with infrastructure and DevOps teams.
- Set standards for Maximo configuration and Java-based customization, and review designs and code from onshore and offshore developers.
- Lead a technical team of Maximo developers and consultants: assign work, mentor, and resolve technical escalations.
- Run requirements and architecture workshops with business and IT stakeholders, and turn their needs into solution designs and delivery plans.
- Support reporting and service-management use cases, such as BIRT reports and IBM Control Desk, where they are in scope.

Must-have skills
- IBM Maximo (7.x / Maximo Asset Management): 8+ years hands-on, including 3+ years in a lead or architect role.
- Maximo integration: Maximo Integration Framework (MIF) and REST/SOAP web services.
- Java, used in Maximo development.
- SQL and relational databases (Oracle or SQL Server).
- Cloud platforms: AWS and/or Azure.
- Solution architecture and technical team leadership.
- Agile / Scrum delivery.

Nice-to-have skills
- Maximo Application Suite (MAS 8/9) upgrade or deployment experience.
- Red Hat OpenShift.
- Kubernetes and Docker / containers, DevOps practices, microservices.
- WebSphere Application Server administration for Maximo 7.6.
- BIRT report development; IBM Control Desk / ITSM.
- Python; Linux / Unix; Kafka or other event-driven integration.
- Db2.
- MAS applications: Manage, Health, Predict, Monitor.
- IBM Maximo / MAS certifications.

Experience
- 10 15 years total IT experience.
- 8+ years hands-on IBM Maximo experience.
- 3+ years in a Maximo lead or architect role.

Industry experience preferred
Asset-intensive sectors such as transportation and logistics, energy and utilities (including oil & gas), manufacturing, and public sector. Maximo delivery experience at an IT services or consulting firm also counts.
