Java Microservices Developer
Location - Phoenix and Charlotte



Primary Skills

Strong hands-on experience in Java (Java 8/11/17) with solid understanding of object-oriented programming concepts, design patterns, and application architecture.
Extensive experience in developing enterprise-grade applications using Spring Boot and the Spring ecosystem.
Proven expertise in designing, developing, and consuming RESTful APIs with a focus on scalability, security, and performance.
Experience building and supporting Microservices-based architectures, including service orchestration, inter-service communication, fault tolerance, and resiliency patterns.
Strong experience with Spring WebClient for reactive and asynchronous service integrations.
Hands-on experience in application debugging, performance tuning, code optimization, and production support.
Familiarity with unit testing and integration testing frameworks such as JUnit, Mockito, and TestNG.
Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments and collaborating with cross-functional teams.

Secondary Skills (Preferred)

Experience with Apache Kafka for event-driven and real-time messaging solutions.
Working knowledge of MongoDB and NoSQL database design principles.
Exposure to Google Cloud Platform (GCP) services and cloud-native application development.
Experience with CI/CD pipelines, including tools such as Jenkins, GitHub Actions, GitLab CI/CD, Maven, Gradle, or similar deployment automation platforms.
Knowledge of containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration platforms like Kubernetes/OpenShift is a plus.

Responsibilities

Design, develop, test, and deploy scalable microservices and REST APIs using Java and Spring Boot.
Collaborate with architects, product owners, business analysts, and development teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions.
Build resilient and high-performing applications following cloud-native and microservices best practices.
Integrate applications with databases, messaging platforms, and external systems.
Participate in code reviews, technical design discussions, and architecture reviews.
Troubleshoot production issues and implement performance improvements.
Contribute to DevOps practices including automated build, deployment, and monitoring processes.
Ensure adherence to coding standards, security policies, and software engineering best practices.

Nice to Have

OpenShift/Kubernetes deployment experience.
Exposure to AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot, Microsoft Copilot, or similar AI coding assistants.
Experience with observability tools such as Splunk, ELK, Dynatrace, AppDynamics, or Prometheus.
Knowledge of Domain-Driven Design (DDD), Event-Driven Architecture, and API Gateway patterns.
