Job Type Description Under the direction of the Chief Information Officer, provide strategic leadership and oversight for the District's communications, public relations, digital engagement, multimedia storytelling, crisis communications, and community engagement functions. Develop, implement, and monitor a comprehensive communications and public relations strategy that reflects and advances the District's values, strengthens internal culture, promotes transparency and engagement, and builds trust and confidence among students, staff, families, and the broader community. Support and manage the District's crisis communication strategy; expand engagement across internal and external communication channels; manage and direct departmental resources and budget; supervise, develop, and support communications staff; and build strong, positive relationships with District leaders, Board trustees, employees, families, media, community partners, and other stakeholders. Education And Experience: Any combination equivalent to: bachelor's degree in communications, public relations, journalism, marketing, public administration, business administration, educational administration, or a related field and seven years of increasingly responsible professional experience in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, digital strategy, media relations, or a related field, including progressively responsible supervisory or management experience. Master's degree in a related field preferred. Experience in K-12 public education, government, or other public-sector communications preferred. Licenses And Other Requirements: Valid California driver's license. Relevant professional certification in communications, public relations, marketing, journalism, digital media, or a related field preferred.
