SBA Lending Consultant

Job Description:

• Collaborate with Regional Directors of Practice Finance or Relationship Managers to identify SBA-eligible lending opportunities
• Evaluate client needs and structure SBA loan proposals according to program requirements
• Assist with prospect conversations, loan structure support, and eligibility summaries for SBA underwriting approval
• Serve as an SBA subject matter expert in client conversations
• Participate in joint calls with internal partners and clients to explain SBA benefits and answer product questions
• Educate internal partners on SBA program nuances
• Train frontline staff and internal partners on SBA programs, guidelines, and eligibility
• Conduct sessions on SBA policy changes and program enhancements
• Ensure deals comply with SBA Standard Operating Procedures
• Coordinate with attorneys, internal operations, and closing partners for timely loan closings
• Maintain accurate pipeline reporting and prepare documentation for SBA submission and loan approval
• Perform other duties as assigned and adapt to changing priorities

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Business, Finance, a related field, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 3 years of experience in SBA lending
• Hands-on experience with SBA loan origination and servicing
• In-depth knowledge of SBA loan programs and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs)
• Ability to structure and present SBA loan deals
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills with ability to influence and educate others
• Experience partnering with bankers, business development officers, or sales teams
• Familiarity with SBA loan packaging and submission platforms, such as SBA One
• Experience navigating SBA eligibility and underwriting processes
• Strong analytical and credit skills
• Ability to work cross-functionally with internal and external stakeholders
• Comfort in customer-facing environments
• Detail-oriented with strong focus on compliance and documentation
• Proactive, self-driven, and strong problem-solving abilities
