Job Description:

The Senior Network Engineer will design, implement, manage, and secure enterprise network infrastructure across network, systems, cloud, telecommunications, data center, and web environments. The role combines advanced enterprise networking and cybersecurity, including routing and switching, firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, cloud connectivity, security monitoring, incident response, and vulnerability management.

Key Responsibilities:

• Design, implement, and support enterprise LAN/WAN infrastructure.

• Configure and support enterprise routing and switching.

• Design and maintain secure network architectures.

• Manage firewalls, VPNs, network segmentation, and access controls.

• Support wireless, Internet, cloud, and data-center connectivity.

• Develop network solutions supporting high availability, resiliency, scalability, and security.

• Develop network-security architecture and segmentation strategies.

• Analyze east-west and north-south network traffic.

• Implement controls designed to limit lateral movement and protect critical systems.

• Monitor and analyze cybersecurity threats and network-security events.

• Investigate malware, vulnerabilities, unauthorized access, network anomalies, and policy violations.

• Lead troubleshooting and resolution of complex network and security incidents.

Additional Responsibilities:

• Conduct enterprise network and infrastructure security-risk assessments.

• Develop risk-based remediation strategies.

• Administer security profiles and access controls.

• Support firewall administration and vulnerability management.

• Develop and maintain enterprise security policies, standards, and procedures.

• Evaluate emerging networking and cybersecurity technologies.

• Lead technical evaluations, proof-of-concepts, and product assessments.

• Perform root-cause analysis using monitoring, logging, packet analysis, and performance data.

• Develop network-performance and security metrics, dashboards, and KPIs.

• Maintain network diagrams, IP addressing, VLAN, firewall-rule, and security-configuration documentation.

• Coordinate with cybersecurity, systems, database, application, cloud, telecommunications, and architecture teams.

• Provide technical leadership and mentoring to network and security staff.

Required Skills:

• 510 years of combined IT and security experience.

• Broad experience with systems analysis, application development, database design/administration, and related IT environments.

• 35 years of experience with information-security tools based on NIST standards.

• Advanced enterprise networking and network-security knowledge.
