Job description
Job Opportunity: Second Ops. Operator
A client of ours in Tualatin is looking to add a Second Ops. Operator to their team.
Responsibilities:
- Set up and operate sandblasting and sand recovery equipment.
- Position and turn parts to ensure all surfaces are properly blasted.
- Remove sand, scale, and other markings from parts in preparation for painting or anodizing.
- Visually inspect parts for quality and report defects or process issues.
- Load and unload racks and baskets according to instructions.
- Maintain accurate part counts and keep up with the daily production schedule.
- Read work orders and identify production priorities.
- Perform deburring and other finishing activities as needed.
- Assist with component preparation for assembly.
- Monitor equipment and report malfunctions, supply needs, or repair issues.
- Perform basic equipment maintenance within established guidelines.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area, including cleaning basins, filters, shakers, and designated production areas.
- Follow work instructions, safety procedures, and PPE requirements.
- Assist in the paint booth as needed.
- Follow quality standards and report outdated or incorrect processes to the supervisor.
Requirements:
- At least 6 months of experience performing similar duties in a production or manufacturing environment.
- Working knowledge of manual and automatic sand or grit blasting equipment.
- Ability to inspect parts and identify quality issues.
- Knowledge of sandblasting hazards and proper protective equipment.
- Ability to read, write, speak, and understand English.
- Ability to perform repetitive and routine work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions and take direction from multiple sources.
- Ability to frequently stand, walk, reach, stoop, kneel, and crouch.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. occasionally.
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
Schedule: Flexible, after 1:30 PM. 5×8-hour or 4×10-hour per week.
Pay: $19.04/hr.
Duration: This is a temp-to-hire position.
