Senior Computer Specialist

Job Description:

• Provide advanced technical support for servers, applications and end-user systems
• Diagnose and resolve complex hardware, software and network issues
• Install, configure and maintain system software and updates
• Support system upgrades, migrations and new technology rollouts
• Write scripts to automate routine technical tasks
• Develop technical documentation and procedures
• Advise project teams on technical options and best practices
• Perform other duties as assigned

Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or a related field required
• 4+ years of IT systems or technical support experience
• Experience with Windows and Linux or UNIX environments
• Working knowledge of networking, Active Directory and system security basics
• Scripting experience with PowerShell, shell or Python
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment
• Ability to use common office equipment including computers, phones, scanners and printers
• Certifications such as CompTIA Security+, Microsoft or Red Hat certifications preferred
• ITIL Foundation certification preferred
• Experience supporting federal government contracts preferred
