Location
Irvine, California. This is a full-time on-site opportunity offering close collaboration with attorneys and clients. This position is not hybrid or remote.
Note:
Candidates must be active California attorneys with 1+ year of patent prosecution experience and an Electrical Engineering or Computer Science background or degree. Prior experience with a BigLaw firm or established IP boutique is required.

Job Description
- Draft, prepare, and prosecute U.S. patent applications involving sophisticated technologies
- Analyze invention disclosures and translate complex technical concepts into strong patent applications
- Prepare responses to USPTO Office Actions and advance applications through prosecution
- Work with inventors, engineers, executives, and clients to understand technologies and develop effective patent strategies
- Conduct patentability analysis and support intellectual property portfolio development
- Participate in examiner interviews and other USPTO prosecution matters
- Coordinate with colleagues and foreign counsel on domestic and international patent matters
- Manage deadlines, case priorities, and multiple patent prosecution matters with a high level of accuracy
- Take increasing ownership of client communication and patent strategy as your experience grows
Qualifications
- Active California Bar license
- 1+ year of patent prosecution experience
- Electrical Engineering or Computer Science degree or substantive technical background
- Patent prosecution experience from a BigLaw firm or established IP boutique
- Strong patent drafting, technical writing, analytical, and communication skills
- Ability to work full time on-site in Irvine
- USPTO registration strongly preferred
