The following are the duties of this position at the full working level. If this vacancy includes more than one grade and you are selected at a lower grade level, you will have the opportunity to learn to perform these duties and receive training to help you grow in this position.

1. Conducts business reviews of field and headquarters offices, serves on task forces or study groups, and performs independent analyses of area or nationwide program operations.
2. Comprehensively plans, analyzes, determines cost/benefit relationships, and coordinates a variety of functions, operations, teams, or interfacing administrative systems.
3. Independently studies complex problems facing operating unit functions or those of particular concern within specialized areas of the organization. This may require coordinating input from activities outside the division and identifying new methods of performing work.
4. Participates with cross-functional representatives on nationwide programs. Conducts studies and analyses to support operational reviews, measure achievement of goals, execution of plans, compliance with directives, and utilization of resources.
5. Identifies problems, best practices, and emerging tax compliance issues; develops, recommends, and facilitates process improvements and planning options; and reports results to affected management officials.
