Financial Analyst
The Financial Analyst plays a crucial role in providing financial insights, analysis, and support to assist in decision-making processes at St. Jude. This role involves analyzing financial data, preparing reports, forecasting future trends, and working closely with various departments to provide valuable financial information.
The Department of Global Pediatric Medicine (GPM) is seeking a collaborative and detail-oriented Financial Analyst to provide financial analysis, reporting, forecasting, and budget support. The Financial Analyst will analyze financial data, prepare reports, model changes in key variables, and work with departmental partners to provide timely and useful financial information that supports decision-making. The role will also support financial close, forecasting, annual budgeting, and compliance with applicable contract policies and procedures.
The Financial Analyst for Global Pediatric Medicine will:
- Perform financial analysis, under supervision, using appropriate financial tools and systems.
- Prepare analyses of revenue and expenses by modeling changes in key variables.
- Support the department during monthly close, quarterly forecast, and annual budget processes.
- Analyze financial data, prepare reports, and identify information that supports departmental decision-making.
- Develop financial and business analyses and perform ad hoc financial modeling as needed.
- Support the development, implementation, and monitoring of compliance with contract policies and procedures.
- Apply relevant internal controls, financial risk management practices, regulatory requirements, and documentation standards within the scope of the role.
- Use financial systems, tools, and processes to support advanced analysis, budgeting, and internal and external reporting.
- Build productive working relationships with departmental partners and vendors to support effective financial operations.
- Adapt to changing priorities, identify potential roadblocks, and work with partners to develop solutions aligned with functional priorities.
- Perform other duties as assigned to meet the goals and objectives of the department and institution.
- Maintain regular and predictable attendance.
Minimum Education/Experience
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field of study required.
- Two or more years of experience in the management or administration of financial or budgetary processes, preferably within a healthcare setting.
- Experience in healthcare finance and accounting, involving budget development, is preferred.
- No licensure, registration, or certification is required.
- Experience with budget, general ledger system preferred
- Experience in Workday / Adaptive Planning preferred.
- Experience with data visualization and dashboards (ie. PowerBI, Tableau, Adaptive) preferred
- Working knowledge of basic accounting principles and practical experience with month-end close activities, invoice processing and account reconciliations strongly preferred.
- CPA preferred but not required.
Compensation
In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $65,520 - $114,400 per year for the role of Financial Analyst, Global Pediatric Medicine.
