About the Role
Equivity is seeking an experienced Estate Planning Paralegal to support attorneys with drafting, organizing, and managing estate planning matters.
This role is a strong fit for a paralegal who is comfortable preparing estate planning documents, working directly with clients, and independently managing matters through execution and follow-up.
This is an assignment-based W-2 position. Hours vary based on client demand and are not guaranteed. Candidates must be available for at least 20 hours per week and respond to active clients and Equivity managers within one hour during their stated availability.
What You’ll Do
- Draft wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related documents.
- Prepare estate planning packages for attorney review and client execution.
- Assist with trust funding and asset-transfer documentation.
- Gather and organize client, beneficiary, asset, and financial information.
- Maintain matter files, templates, checklists, and records.
- Coordinate client meetings, signing appointments, and follow-up items.
- Communicate with clients and third parties to obtain required information.
- Review documents for accuracy and completeness.
- Track outstanding items and help keep matters moving forward.
Requirements
- 3+ years of recent estate planning paralegal experience.
- Bachelor’s degree required.
- Hands-on experience drafting wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and related estate planning documents.
- Strong knowledge of estate planning processes and document preparation.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and client communication skills.
- Ability to work independently in a remote environment.
- Minimum availability of 20 hours per week during standard business hours.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and Adobe Acrobat.
- Reliable computer and internet connection; Windows-based computer preferred.
- Ability to respond within one hour during stated availability between 9:00 AM and 6:00 PM.
Nice to Have
- Trust administration experience.
- Probate experience.
- Experience with WealthCounsel, ElderCounsel, Clio, or similar legal software.
- Familiarity with AI tools and experience using them to support legal work.
Compensation & Work Structure
- $26 per hour
- W-2 employment
- Fully remote
- Assignment-based work
- Assignments are based on client demand, experience, qualifications, and availability.
- Assignment volume and weekly hours may fluctuate and are not guaranteed.
