Tech Lead

Salary: $110,000 - 130,000 per year

Requirements:

• At least 6 years of experience shipping full-stack web software, including 2 or more years reviewing others code before release.
• Experience operating a revenue-critical system, including on-call coverage, incident response, fixes, and postmortems.
• Daily use of AI coding tools, with their output reviewed, tested, and documented to the same standard as other code.
• Experience integrating with an ERP, a CRM, and an e-commerce platform, with an understanding of their limitations.
• Ability to write useful documentation and runbooks that help others maintain critical systems.
• Pragmatic approach to technology choices, focused on delivery and comfortable serving as the final technical reviewer.
• Ability to commute to Noblesville, Indiana 46060; the role is in person, full-time on site, with no remote or hybrid arrangement.

• As part of the application, share a link to something you have built and shipped, along with a brief note, and outline how you would source and structure address-based building-code data for a product configurator and roll it out without reducing current conversion.

Responsibilities:

• Own the architecture, code reviews, and releases for our products and internal tools, including the website, quoting engine, portals, and sales tools.
• Maintain the reliability of our revenue-critical quoting engine.
• Manage and develop our full-stack developer, and hire additional team members when workload warrants it.
• Oversee integrations with Shopify, NetSuite, Zoho CRM, Klaviyo, Stripe, and building-code hazard data.
• Manage security, access, backups, and customer data handling.
• Make build-versus-buy decisions and oversee contractors.
• Deliver per-channel testing infrastructure, address-based engineering constraints in the configurator, trade login and permit-package features, and retail storefront updates.
• Build the dealer engine, including lead routing, installer certification and audit records, scorecards, and pricing compliance.
• Work with our creative team on a project gallery and brand website.
• Document systems and cross-train the team so at least two people can ship changes to every critical system.

We design and manufacture custom-engineered aluminum louvered pergolas in Noblesville, Indiana, and sell nationwide to homeowners and through dealers. We have built our own software, including a quoting engine that accounts for wind and snow loads at a customers address and produces permit-ready drawings, a true-scale augmented-reality configurator, an online kit store, dealer and installer portals, and sales tools. We move quickly with AI-assisted development. In this full-time, on-site Tech Lead role, you will provide the final technical check across our platform; most of your week will be spent coding. The 2027 focus includes shipping a dealer engine and rebuilding the website while reducing dependence on any one person. Annual pay is $110,000–$130,000.
