Material Handling Equipment Field Maintenance TechnicianWhat a day could look like
You kick off the morning reviewing preventive maintenance tasks and documentation from the last site you visited. By mid-day, you’re on the floor at a new facility, tracing a sensor fault on a conveyor line, swapping a relay, and bringing a packaging cell back online. In the afternoon, you mentor a junior technician on safe lockout/tagout steps and walk them through wiring practices for a motor install. Before you leave, you reconcile spare parts used and update the inventory log—ready for the next assignment on your travel schedule.
The impact you’ll make
- Promote and maintain a safe working environment by following all company and equipment safety procedures.
- Complete preventive maintenance routines and ensure all work is properly documented.
- Troubleshoot electrical and mechanical issues on material handling equipment, including:
- Conveyor belts and systems
- Motors
- Photo-eyes and sensors
- Relays
- Automated packaging and distribution equipment
- Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair automated equipment and supporting systems.
- Maintain positive and effective working relationships across Operations.
- Track, organize, and maintain department inventory.
- Mentor and support junior maintenance technicians in developing their technical skills.
Where and how you’ll work
- Travel at least 90% of the time, frequently for extended assignments.
- Work shifts of up to 12 hours, including extended periods of standing and walking.
- Safely lift and move equipment, parts, and tools weighing up to 49 pounds.
Physical demands
- Repetitively bend, crouch, kneel, reach, twist, sit, stand, and walk.
- Lift parts and tools weighing approximately 20 pounds on average, with occasional lifting of up to 49 pounds.
- Perform tasks requiring strong eye
