Controller - Temporary

Based on Experience Accelerate Professional Talent Solutions is seeking an experienced accounting professional for a 12-week temporary assignment. This position in Lenexa, KS is being added to provide coverage during a maternity leave and will support the company's day-to-day accounting and financial operations. This is a great opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who can quickly step into a Controller role, manage the accounting function independently, and ensure continuity throughout the temporary assignment.

Controller Responsibilities:

• Oversee day-to-day accounting and financial operations
• Manage general ledger activity and month-end close
• Prepare and review financial statements and accounting reports
• Oversee accounts payable and accounts receivable
• Perform account reconciliations and ensure accuracy of financial records
• Monitor cash flow and assist with cash management
• Prepare and review journal entries and financial transactions
• Assist with budgeting, forecasting, and financial reporting as needed
• Ensure timely and accurate completion of month-end and year-end accounting processes
• Maintain compliance with accounting policies and procedures
• Provide financial information and reporting to company leadership
• Identify and resolve accounting discrepancies or issues
• Support the accounting function and assist with other financial projects as needed

Requirements for Controller:

- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred - Previous Controller or senior-level accounting experience - Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial reporting - Experience with general ledger, reconciliations, AP/AR, and month-end close - Strong attention to detail and organizational skills - Ability to work independently and manage priorities in a small-office environment - Strong communication and problem-solving skills - Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software - Ability to quickly step into a role and maintain continuity with minimal training
