In this role you drive data-driven strategic research for regulatory operations, shaping multi-domain analytical solutions and surveillance programs. You will collaborate with senior staff to present findings and advance regulatory initiatives using advanced statistics and machine learning. You'll design scalable frameworks for large, multi-terabyte datasets and translate insights into actionable recommendations for program improvements. Responsibilities
Lead design and implementation of quantitative, multi-market investigatory solutions for processing referrals and market violations using large, cross-domain data
Produce clear written and visual artifacts to communicate analyses to senior leaders
Enhance and evolve the surveillance investigatory program in response to market trends
Provide quantitative support for market studies, examinations, and investigations
Identify opportunities to apply machine learning to regulatory domain problems
Support regulatory impact assessments for industry initiatives on cross-market programs
Adapt investigatory, referral and examination programs to new rules and initiatives
Contribute to team program vision, strategy, and status updates
Engage in ad hoc projects and national initiatives as needed
Demonstrate FINRA values through collaboration and stakeholder engagement
Key requirements
Graduate degree in Computer Science, Economics, Finance, or Business with eight years of experience (including four in machine learning)
Strong statistical and software engineering skills
Experience analyzing large datasets in an efficient, scalable manner
Ability to communicate findings to senior personnel and work with cross-functional teams
