Performs repairs and preventive maintenance on stamping dies and assembly tooling to ensure production efficiency and high-quality workmanship.


Responsibilities & Requirements

• Tooling Repair & Maintenance: Maintain, repair, and modify stamping dies, fixtures, and assembly tooling using machining and hand-tool methods.
• Equipment Operation: Safely operate tool room machinery, including lathes, milling machines, grinders, drill presses, saws, and welding equipment.
• Preventive Maintenance: Support preventive maintenance programs for all tooling equipment and maintain accurate tooling documentation.
• Continuous Improvement: Collaborate with internal teams and external vendors on process improvements using lean manufacturing principles.
• Operations Support: Assist with developing tool room apprentices. Shift adjustments may be required based on production demands.

Key Qualifications

• Education: High school diploma or GED required; post-secondary tooling/machining coursework preferred.
• Technical Mastery: Advanced proficiency in die repair, bench repair, layout, assembly, press troubleshooting, tooling design, fixture building, heat treating, and welding.
• Math & Technical Literacy: Strong math skills; ability to read and interpret technical drawings, diagrams, and procedures.
• Software: Intermediate computer proficiency.
