Thermal CFD Simulation Engineer

Location: Bay Area, CA

Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Thermal CFD Simulation Engineer with strong expertise in STAR-CCM+ to support vehicle thermal management, cooling system optimization, and airflow analysis for automotive applications. The ideal candidate will perform CFD simulations, analyze thermal performance, provide engineering recommendations, and collaborate closely with cross-functional engineering teams to improve vehicle thermal efficiency and reliability.

Key Responsibilities

  • Perform thermal and fluid flow simulations using STAR-CCM+ for automotive systems.
  • Analyze vehicle thermal management performance, including cooling systems, HVAC, and battery thermal management.
  • Conduct airflow, heat transfer, and CFD studies to evaluate and optimize system designs.
  • Interpret simulation results and provide actionable engineering recommendations.
  • Work closely with design, product development, and testing teams to validate simulation outcomes.
  • Prepare technical reports, presentations, and design review documentation.
  • Support product development activities related to thermal performance and reliability.

Required Skills

  • 5+ years of experience in Thermal CFD Simulation.
  • Strong hands-on expertise with STAR-CCM+.
  • Solid knowledge of CFD, heat transfer, fluid dynamics, and thermal management principles.
  • Experience with HVAC systems, battery thermal management, cooling systems, and airflow simulations.
  • Ability to interpret complex simulation results and recommend design improvements.
  • Strong communication, analytical, and presentation skills.
  • Experience in the automotive domain is highly preferred.
