Senior Software Engineer (.NET)
Location: Orlando, FL Hybrid (4 days onsite, 1 day remote)

About the Role
We are looking for a hands-on Senior .NET Engineer to support and enhance mission-critical shipboard applications used across Crew HR, labor, training, safety, and finance operations.
The engineer will work closely with engineering leads, Level 3 support, offshore teams, product managers, and business stakeholders to troubleshoot existing applications, deliver enhancements, and support modernization initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, debug, and enhance .NET applications.
- Support L2/L3 production issues, incident resolution, and root-cause analysis.
- Develop and maintain WCF services, REST APIs, and WPF applications.
- Work with .NET Framework, .NET Core/6+, C#, and ASP.NET Web API.
- Build applications designed to operate in offline/disconnected shipboard environments.
- Work with SQL Server and/or Oracle databases.
- Participate in Agile ceremonies, code reviews, testing, and technical documentation.
- Collaborate with offshore teams and cross-functional business/technical teams.
- Contribute to application modernization and legacy system analysis.
- Support CI/CD, monitoring, and deployment activities.
Required Skills
- 5+ years of professional .NET development experience.
- Strong C#, .NET Framework, .NET Core/6+, ASP.NET Web API experience.
- Strong knowledge of REST APIs and WCF.
- Experience with SQL Server and/or Oracle.
- Production support, debugging, and troubleshooting experience.
- Experience with Azure DevOps/GitLab/GitHub Actions/Jenkins.
- Experience with Docker and containerized applications.
- Familiarity with monitoring/logging tools such as Splunk, Grafana, AppDynamics, or ELK.
- Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in Agile/Scrum environments.
Preferred Skills
- Shipboard, distributed, or offline-capable application experience.
- Oracle PL/SQL or SQL Server stored procedures.
- Kafka, RabbitMQ, SNS/SQS, or other messaging technologies.
- OAuth, JWT, TLS, and identity/security concepts.
- AWS, Kubernetes, Rancher, or hybrid cloud.
- Angular, React, Node.js, JavaScript/TypeScript experience.
- Experience with AI-assisted development tools such as GitHub Copilot.
Education
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent professional experience.
