About the Opportunity

We are currently hiring for a Business Intelligence Developer position with one of our clients in Tampa, FL. This is an excellent opportunity for technology and analytics professionals interested in business intelligence, data visualization, reporting, data modeling, and business analytics.

The ideal candidate will have strong analytical and technical skills, an understanding of databases and reporting tools, and the ability to translate business requirements into meaningful data solutions.

Qualified new graduates with relevant coursework, internships, academic projects, certifications, or hands-on experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or database development are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain business intelligence reports, dashboards, and data visualizations.
• Gather and analyze business requirements from stakeholders and translate them into technical reporting solutions.
• Develop data models, datasets, queries, and reporting solutions to support business decision-making.
• Write and optimize SQL queries to extract, transform, and analyze data.
• Develop dashboards and reports using tools such as Power BI, Tableau, or similar BI platforms.
• Work with data engineers and database teams to ensure data accuracy, consistency, and availability.
• Perform data validation and quality checks to ensure reliable reporting.
• Integrate data from multiple sources and systems for business reporting and analysis.
• Identify trends, patterns, and insights within business data.
• Troubleshoot reporting, data, and dashboard-related issues.
• Document data models, reporting processes, requirements, and technical specifications.
• Collaborate with business users, analysts, developers, and leadership teams.
• Support continuous improvement of BI solutions, reporting processes, and data analytics capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Data Science, Business Analytics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in SQL and relational database concepts.
• Understanding of data analysis, data modeling, and business intelligence concepts.
• Familiarity with data visualization and reporting tools.
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work with large datasets.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to understand business requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Power BI, Tableau, or Looker.
• Knowledge of SQL Server, Oracle, PostgreSQL, Snowflake, BigQuery, or similar databases.
• Familiarity with Power BI DAX and Power Query is a plus.
• Understanding of ETL/ELT concepts and data warehouse architecture.
• Exposure to tools such as SSIS, Azure Data Factory, dbt, or similar data integration technologies.
• Knowledge of Python or another programming language for data analysis.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Understanding of data warehousing, dimensional modeling, and reporting best practices.
• Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Familiarity with Git, Jira, Confluence, or similar development/project management tools.
• BI, data analytics, or cloud-related certifications are a plus.

New Graduate Consideration

Candidates do not necessarily need prior professional experience specifically titled "Business Intelligence Developer." Experience in Data Analytics, BI Analysis, Reporting, Data Engineering, Database Development, or Business Analysis may also be relevant.

Candidates with hands-on experience developing SQL queries, creating Power BI/Tableau dashboards, analyzing datasets, or building academic BI projects will be strongly considered.
