Job Description:

Manage Appliances: Administer Blue Coat ProxySG devices (now owned by Broadcom) to control internet access.

Filter Web Traffic: Write rules to block harmful websites and apps using URL filtering.

Decrypt Traffic: Intercept and inspect SSL or TLS (secure browsing) traffic to check for hidden threats.

Integrate Systems: Connect the proxy to malware scanners and Data Loss Prevention (DLP) tools to stop stolen data.

Troubleshoot: Fix slow connections, block false alarms, and stop web outages

Typical Requirements:

Work Experience: 2 to 5 years of hands-on work with proxy servers or secure web gateways.

Tech Skills: A strong grasp of TCP/IP, DNS, HTTP/HTTPS, and firewall concepts.

Certifications: Vendor credentials like the Blue Coat Certified Proxy Administrator (BCCPA)
