- Full-time
Join Us as a 5‑Axis CNC Manufacturing Programmer
Picture your day in a precision shop where complex geometries and tight tolerances are the norm. You arrive, review the day’s priority jobs, and dive into a new 5‑axis part. You load fixtures, verify workholding, establish work offsets, and set tool length offsets. At the machine, you call up the program, step through the code, and fine‑tune feeds, speeds, and tool paths. A first‑article inspection confirms you’re on target, and you make a few strategic edits in G & M code to optimize cycle time without sacrificing quality. Throughout the shift, you partner with engineering and quality to launch new jobs and support existing production.
What You’ll Do
- Set up, operate, and program 5‑axis CNC machining centers from start to finish.
- Create, edit, and troubleshoot CNC programs directly at the machine.
- Configure tooling, fixtures, workholding, work offsets, and tool length offsets accurately.
- Interpret complex blueprints and apply GD&T to achieve specification.
- Optimize processes through G‑code and M‑code edits for efficiency and repeatability.
- Perform first‑piece (first‑article) inspections and adjust as needed to hold tight tolerances.
- Diagnose machining issues; adjust feeds, speeds, tooling, and offsets to resolve them.
- Collaborate closely with engineering and quality teams to support new launches and ongoing production.
