Job Summary: DevOps Platform Engineer
- Support a major national laboratory as a DevOps Platform Engineer.
- Implement, maintain, patch, and automate cloud and containerized services (primarily Azure and OpenShift).
- Collaborate daily with both technical and non-technical team members using chat-based systems.
- Manage and support Azure-hosted web services, leveraging architecture diagrams and cybersecurity reviews.
- Administer OpenShift services, including deployments, routes, secrets, configuration, and Helm-based releases.
- Perform operational maintenance: service restarts, certificate updates, vulnerability remediation, patch validation, and troubleshooting.
- Build and maintain automation for deployments, infrastructure provisioning, and operational processes.
- Develop and optimize CI/CD pipelines for Azure and OpenShift environments.
- Create infrastructure-as-code templates and reusable automation patterns (e.g., Terraform, Ansible).
- Automate container build and deployment workflows.
- Troubleshoot automation and platform issues, driving continuous improvement.
- Document standards, best practices, and collaborate with cross-functional teams.
- Required skills: Azure and cloud-native architectures, OpenShift/Kubernetes automation, Bash/Python scripting, Linux administration, Docker, CI/CD tools (e.g., GitLab, Jenkins, Azure DevOps), YAML, Git, Agile or Kanban methodologies, database technologies, chat-based communication platforms.
- Desired skills: DevSecOps practices, infrastructure-as-code/configuration management, container security tooling, GitOps, hybrid/multi-cloud environments, and relevant certifications.
- Must be a US Citizen, able to obtain/maintain DOE Security Clearance, and reside in Albuquerque area for some onsite work.
- Minimum BS degree in relevant field and 3+ years directly related experience.
