Sr. Data Scientist / AI Engineer

Position Summary

Our organization is seeking a highly skilled Senior or Lead Data Scientist / AI Engineer to join an innovative team based in South Florida. This role involves developing advanced AI and data science solutions that enhance operational efficiency, safety, security, and risk management. The ideal candidate will possess a strong engineering mindset, capable of integrating machine learning, software engineering, and AI development, while leveraging modern AI coding agents to streamline and accelerate project delivery.

Key Responsibilities

• Collaborate with a team of 7-8 professionals, including AI engineers, data scientists, DevOps engineers, and ML engineers, in a highly collaborative and fast-paced environment.
• Design, develop, and implement cutting-edge AI and data science applications to support organizational initiatives.
• Leverage internal structured problem-solving methodologies to create innovative solutions.
• Utilize AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools to enhance productivity and efficiency.
• Engage in technical discussions, code reviews, and problem-solving exercises.
• Participate in stakeholder meetings to align technical solutions with business needs.
• Continuously learn and adopt emerging AI technologies to maintain state-of-the-art capabilities.

Required Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience for senior-level candidates or 5 years for lead-level candidates in data science or AI engineering.
• Expert-level proficiency in Python and SQL.
• Strong foundation in machine learning and data science principles.
• Engineering or highly technical background preferred.
• Proven experience using AI coding agents and AI-assisted development tools.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and analytical thinking.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with optimization techniques.
• Familiarity with FastAPI, Next.js, and Databricks.
• Proficiency in cloud platforms such as MS Azure.
• Demonstrated ability to rapidly learn and integrate emerging AI technologies.
