Job description

Hi ,

Hope you are doing well!

I'm Shikha Dixit, Lead Recruiter at Siri Info Solutions. I reviewed your background in [CMiC, Workday, Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW), Azure Data Lake, etc.], and your profile looks like an excellent match for a "Data Migration Engineer" opening in Fort Lauderdale, Florida. This is a high-priority, Remote role with one of our key clients. Given your experience, I'd love to discuss the details and see if this aligns with your career goals. Are you open to a quick 5-minute chat?

Role: Data Migration Engineer

Duration: Long-term

Location: Fort Lauderdale, Florida (Remote)

Workstreams: CMiC to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications; Workday to Oracle Fusion (as applicable); Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) to Azure data lake

Source systems: CMiC; Workday HCM (as applicable); Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW)

Target platforms: Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications; Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2

Role Descriptions:

  • The Data Migration Engineer leads two data migration workstreams for the client. The first moves ERP data from CMiC to Oracle Fusion Cloud Applications. The second moves analytical data from Oracle Fusion to Oracle Autonomous Data Warehouse (ADW) and to an Azure data lake. As applicable, the role also covers migrating data from Workday, MOSS's HCM system, to Oracle Fusion, along with the Workday Oracle integration.
  • The engineer is responsible for the data end to end in both workstreams. This covers profiling and mapping the data, building the extraction and transformation pipelines, loading and reconciling it, and delivering a cutover that finance and operations teams can sign off with confidence

Responsibilities:

CMiC to Oracle Fusion

  • Analyze CMiC data structures, including the underlying Oracle database, across financials, job costing, projects, subcontracts, vendors, customers, and payroll-related data.
  • Build source-to-target mappings for Fusion ERP, Project Management (PPM), Procurement and, where in scope, HCM (Workday), working with functional consultants and MOSS business owners.
  • As applicable, migrate HR-related data from Workday to Oracle Fusion, such as workers, organizations, positions, cost centers, and payroll costing references, and keep it consistent with the Workday Oracle integration.
  • Map the CMiC general ledger account structure to the Oracle Fusion chart of accounts, including segment definitions, value sets, account combinations, and cross-validation rules, so that GL balances and journals migrate to valid Fusion accounts.
  • Map CMiC job, phase, and cost code structures to Oracle Fusion project work breakdown structures (WBS), including task hierarchies, expenditure types, and the links between project costs, budgets, and GL accounts.
  • Develop extraction and transformation logic in SQL and PL/SQL, Python, or ETL tooling to produce load-ready files.
  • Load data using File-Based Data Import (FBDI), HCM Data Loader (HDL), ADFdi spreadsheets, and Fusion REST APIs, orchestrating loads through Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) where appropriate.
  • Migrate master data, open transactions, and historical balances, such as GL balances, open AP/AR, project costs, and commitments, in the correct dependency order.
  • Run mock conversions, and produce reconciliation reports that prove record counts, balances, and project totals match between CMiC and Fusion.

Oracle ADW to Azure data lake

  • Design the migration of ADW schemas and data into Azure Data Lake Storage Gen2, landing data in open formats such as Parquet or Delta.
  • Build pipelines using Azure Data Factory, DBMS_CLOUD exports via OCI Object Storage, or OCI GoldenGate for ongoing change data capture, choosing the approach by volume and latency requirements.
  • Work with network teams on secure OCI-to-Azure connectivity, including the Oracle Interconnect for Azure or VPN options.
  • Convert Oracle-specific data types, structures, and logic so they work in the target platforms, such as Azure Databricks, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric.
  • Validate completeness and accuracy after each load, and document pipelines for handover to the MOSS data team.

Across both workstreams

  • Own data quality: profile source data, identify cleansing needs, and track issues through to resolution with the business.
  • Plan and run cutover rehearsals and final cutover, including rollback plans.
  • Maintain clear documentation of mappings, transformation rules, load sequences, and reconciliation results.
  • Report progress, risks, and blockers to project managers and client stakeholders.

Required Qualifications:

  • 5+ years in data migration or data engineering, including at least one full-cycle ERP data migration.
  • Hands-on Oracle Fusion Cloud data loading experience with FBDI and/or HDL, and familiarity with Fusion data models in Financials or PPM.
  • Experience mapping chart of accounts and project work breakdown structures between ERP systems.
  • Working knowledge of Workday HCM, MOSS's system of record for HR, including its data model for workers, positions, organizations, cost centers, and compensation, and extracting data through Workday custom reports (RaaS), Enterprise Interface Builder (EIB), or Workday web services and REST APIs.
  • Experience designing, building, and supporting Workday Oracle Fusion integrations, which are within the scope of this role, such as worker, supplier, cost center, and payroll costing feeds into Fusion ERP and PPM, using Oracle Integration Cloud (OIC) or a comparable integration platform, with error handling and reconciliation built in.
  • Strong SQL and PL/SQL skills and experience working with Oracle databases.
  • Experience moving data into Azure, with working knowledge of Azure Data Factory and ADLS Gen2.
  • Proficiency in Python or a comparable scripting language for transformation and automation.
  • A disciplined approach to reconciliation and data validation.
  • Strong communication skills, and comfort working directly with finance and operations users.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience with CMiC Open Enterprise or other construction ERPs, such as Viewpoint Vista or Sage 300 CRE.
  • Oracle Integration Cloud, Oracle GoldenGate, or OCI Data Integration experience.
  • Experience with Azure Databricks, Synapse, or Microsoft Fabric, and Delta Lake.
  • Oracle Cloud or Azure certifications, for example Oracle Fusion Financials Implementation Professional or Azure Data Engineer Associate.
