About the Opportunity

We are currently hiring for a Java Developer position with one of our clients in New York, NY. This is an excellent opportunity for software development professionals interested in Java application development, backend services, APIs, databases, cloud technologies, and enterprise software solutions.

The ideal candidate will have strong programming and problem-solving skills, an understanding of software development principles, and the ability to work collaboratively with technical and business teams.

Qualified new graduates with relevant computer science education, internships, academic projects, coding projects, or hands-on development experience are encouraged to apply.

Key Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain applications using Java and related technologies.
• Develop scalable, reliable, and maintainable backend applications and services.
• Build and maintain RESTful APIs and web services.
• Write clean, efficient, reusable, and well-documented code.
• Work with relational and NoSQL databases to develop queries and data-driven applications.
• Participate in the complete software development lifecycle, including requirements analysis, development, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
• Collaborate with software engineers, business analysts, QA engineers, DevOps teams, and other stakeholders.
• Troubleshoot, debug, and resolve application and production issues.
• Participate in code reviews and follow software development best practices.
• Develop unit and integration tests to ensure application quality and reliability.
• Support application enhancements, performance improvements, and system integrations.
• Maintain technical documentation related to applications, APIs, and development processes.
• Participate in Agile/Scrum ceremonies, sprint planning, and team discussions.
• Assist with deployment and integration of applications across development, testing, and production environments.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
• Strong knowledge of Java programming and object-oriented programming concepts.
• Understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software development fundamentals.
• Knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
• Understanding of REST APIs and web services.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Good written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a development team.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Spring, Spring Boot, or Spring MVC.
• Knowledge of Hibernate or JPA.
• Experience developing RESTful APIs and microservices.
• Familiarity with Java 8+, including modern Java features.
• Experience with databases such as MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, or SQL Server.
• Familiarity with JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, CSS, React, Angular, or similar frontend technologies is a plus.
• Knowledge of Git, GitHub, GitLab, or similar source control platforms.
• Exposure to Maven or Gradle build tools.
• Familiarity with Docker and Kubernetes is a plus.
• Exposure to AWS, Azure, or GCP cloud platforms.
• Familiarity with CI/CD tools and DevOps practices.
• Knowledge of Agile/Scrum methodologies.
• Internship or project experience involving Java application development is beneficial.
