Job Title : Quality Engineer MRB

Location : North Hollywood, CA

Job Type : Full Time

We are looking for an experienced Quality Engineer with 5 10 years of overall experience and a minimum of 2 years of hands-on Material Review Board (MRB) experience, preferably in the aerospace/manufacturing industry.

The role requires hands-on involvement in nonconformance evaluation, physical inspection of parts when required, coordination with cross-functional stakeholders, conducting Quality Clinic meetings, and driving quality issues through timely disposition and closure.

Key Responsibilities

  • Review and evaluate nonconforming materials, parts, components, and assemblies through the MRB process.
  • Review and process NCR/ QN and other nonconformance documentation.
  • Coordinate and discuss quality issues with all relevant stakeholders, including Design Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, Inspection, Supplier Quality, Procurement, Planning, Operations, and other functions.
  • Physically inspect nonconforming parts when required to understand the actual defect/condition and support technical evaluation.
  • Review engineering drawings, specifications, inspection reports, dimensional results, and other technical documentation.
  • Strongly understand and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances, and GD&T requirements.
  • Evaluate nonconformances for potential impact on form, fit, function, performance, manufacturability, assembly, and downstream operations.
  • Coordinate with Engineering and other stakeholders to support appropriate MRB dispositions such as Use-As-Is, Rework, Repair, Return to Vendor, and Scrap, in accordance with applicable authorization requirements.
  • Organize and conduct regular Quality Clinic meetings with relevant stakeholders.
  • Present and discuss open nonconformances, recurring defects, aging issues, and critical quality concerns during Quality Clinic meetings.
  • Track Quality Clinic action items, responsible stakeholders, target dates, and follow up until closure.
  • Drive timely closure of MRB/NCR/QN and aging quality issues.
  • Perform or support Root Cause Analysis (RCA) and Corrective/Preventive Actions using 5-Why, Fishbone, 8D, or similar methodologies.

Required Experience & Skills

  • 5 10 years of overall Quality/Manufacturing Engineering experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of hands-on MRB experience Mandatory.
  • Strong experience in nonconformance management and MRB disposition processes.
  • Experience with NCR/NCMR/QN or equivalent quality notification systems.
  • Strong engineering drawing and GD&T interpretation skills.
  • Hands-on ability to inspect and evaluate parts when required.
  • Good understanding of manufacturing and inspection processes.
  • Experience in Root Cause Analysis, Corrective Action, 8D, 5-Why, Fishbone, and CAPA.
  • Experience conducting or coordinating Quality Clinic / cross-functional quality meetings.
  • Strong stakeholder management, communication, coordination, and follow-up skills.
  • Knowledge of AS9100 and AS9102 is preferred.

Preferred Manufacturing Experience

  • Experience in aerospace or precision manufacturing involving:
  • Machining
  • Sheet-metal fabrication
  • Castings and forgings
  • Mechanical assemblies
  • Heat treatment
  • Special processes

Qualification

  • Bachelor's degree or Diploma in Mechanical, Manufacturing, Aerospace, Industrial Engineering, or equivalent discipline.
  • 5 10 years of relevant industry experience.
  • Minimum 2 years of direct MRB experience is mandatory.
  • Aerospace manufacturing experience is preferred.
