Ground Test Manufacturing Engineer
Location: Lansing, MI
Job Summary:
ALTEN Technology is seeking a Ground Test Manufacturing Engineer to support the manufacturing, production, and repair of engine ground-test equipment. The role focuses heavily on composite manufacturing, tooling, process development, and production support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Develop manufacturing processes, tooling, work instructions, BOMs, and specifications.
- Support composite part fabrication, production, troubleshooting, and process improvements.
- Work with design and production teams to improve manufacturability.
- Develop and validate composite repair processes.
- Support material selection and nonconforming material disposition.
- Train production teams and support quality/cost improvement initiatives.
Required Qualifications:
- STEM degree or equivalent experience with 8 10+ years of relevant experience.
- Aerospace, defense, automotive, or similar manufacturing experience.
- Strong GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation skills.
- Experience with fiberglass, aramid, carbon prepreg, wet layup, and epoxy resin systems.
- Experience with composite/bonded structures, fiber reinforcement, curing, ovens/autoclaves, adhesives, and surface preparation.
- Mechanical manufacturing experience including machining, joints, fasteners, or welding.
Preferred:
- Creo/Windchill, NX, FiberSIM, or Teamcenter.
- Aerospace NDT experience such as ultrasonic, eddy current, FPI, or X-ray.
- DFM/DFA and PFMEA experience.
