Position Overview Office: Health Systems Bureau: Healthcare Regulation Division: Health Care Facilities & Programs The Illinois Department of Public Health is seeking a highly motivated, detail oriented individual to ensure health care facilities in Illinois, patients and their families can be assured of quality of care standards that ensure facilities provide health care services in a clean and safe environment that meets their physical, mental and psychological needs. The Office of health Care Regulation manages licensing, certification and oversight of specific health care facilities (ie Hospitals, End Stage Renal Disease, Home Health, Hospice etc) to ensure compliance with state and federal regulations.

Essential Functions Subject to management approval, serves as Assistant Division Chief of the Health Care Facilities & Programs Division, having the ability to work at various times outside of normal office hours and the ability to be on call. Serves as Primary Liaison with Center for Medicare and Medicaid Services on substantive issues. Serves as Primary Coordinator for the activities of the Home Health, Hospice Advisory Boards. Serves as full-line supervisor. Serves on inter and intra Departmental committees as requested by Division Chief. Travels to represent Division at conferences, meetings and seminars as a member or speaker as requested by Division Chief. Performs other duties as required or assigned, which are reasonably within the scope of the duties enumerated above.

Minimum Qualifications Requires knowledge, skill and mental development equivalent to completion of four (4) years of college. Requires prior experience equivalent to four (4) years of progressively responsible administrative experience in health care organization. Preferred Qualifications Four (4) or more years of progressive supervisory experience in health care facilities. Certified by the Centers for Medicare & Medicaid as having passed the Surveyor Minimum Qualifications Test (SMQT). Master's degree or higher in nursing or health care related degree. Four (4) or more years knowledge of state and federal regulations related to health care facilities. Four (4) or more years of experience in preparing and education or informational material. Four (4) or more years' experience developing, reviewing, revising and implementing policies and procedures. Four (4) or more years of experience with Word, Excel, PowerPoint and/or Smartsheet.

Conditions of Employment Requires appropriate, valid driver's license. Requires ability to travel in the performance of duties. Requires use of an agency supplied mobile phone. Requires ability to work at various times outside of normal office hours to meet deadlines. Requires ability to be on call.
