Job description

Shape Complex Defense-Grade Electronics in Mesa, AZ

Step into a senior role where your designs touch real aircraft and military platforms. As our Senior Electrical Hardware Architect, you’ll guide the creation of advanced electronics for ICE products—from concept to fielded hardware—within a highly collaborative engineering team.

A day in this role

Your morning might begin reviewing a schematic for a new CCA, followed by hands-on iteration in your ECAD tool of choice. After lunch, you’ll integrate and test embedded firmware on a prototype board, then close the day with a cross-functional design review, documenting system I/O requirements and recommendations for improvement. Occasional travel adds variety as you support builds and deployments.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the design, development, and verification of electrical systems that integrate with military platforms, including aircraft.
  • Create and validate CCAs and printed circuit boards, from architecture through release.
  • Architect, design, develop, debug, deploy, and maintain electrical and electronic hardware for new and existing ICE products.
  • Define and document hardware and data input/output as well as overall system requirements.
  • Install and exercise embedded software and firmware on target hardware.
  • Assess system and software designs, tools, and methods; recommend design enhancements.
  • Participate in rigorous design reviews, offering and receiving constructive technical feedback.
  • Track industry advancements and apply innovative approaches to your designs.
  • Produce and maintain specifications, test plans, and formal reports.
  • Support programs that may require occasional travel.

What you bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering strongly preferred; alternatively, an Associate’s degree plus 9+ years of electronic design experience may substitute for a Bachelor’s.
  • 6+ years of experience in electrical or computer engineering.
  • Deep, hands-on PCB design experience using professional ECAD platforms such as Altium Designer, Cadence OrCAD/Allegro, Siemens Xpedition/PADS Professional, or Zuken CR-8000.
  • Solid knowledge of digital communication hardware/protocols: UART, SPI, I2C, IrDA, USB, WiFi, RFID, TCP/IP, RS-485, and more.
  • Proven ability to work both independently and within multi-disciplinary teams, prioritizing effectively.

Legal and security requirements

Ability to obtain Security Clearance is required.

Due to the nature of our work and access to export-controlled information, applicants must qualify as a U.S. Person as defined by the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) (22 CFR § 120.62).
