Our direct, Higher Education client is seeking a hands-on Test Automation/AI Solutions Lead to provide dedicated technical support across three priority initiatives: FICA Redesign, Conversational AI (CAI), and Robotic Process Automation (RPA). This resource will support test automation and AI-enabled SDLC practices, advance CAI solutions from design through production support, and expand RPA and hybrid automation capabilities. The role will help improve ITSS delivery quality and efficiency, establish reusable enterprise patterns, and reduce one-off solutions while operating within established security, privacy, data-handling, and responsible AI controls.
Responsibilities:
- Provide hands-on technical leadership for test automation, AI-enabled SDLC practices, Conversational AI, RPA, and hybrid automation initiatives.
- Design and build test solutions, test plans, dashboards, management frameworks, and automated testing capabilities.
- Design, build, and support AI agents, AI-enabled workflows, and automation using ChatGPT or comparable enterprise AI platforms.
- Apply prompt engineering, retrieval-augmented generation (RAG), embeddings, tool use, AI evaluation techniques, and reusable prompt and agent patterns.
- Integrate AI and automation capabilities into enterprise applications and workflows using REST APIs, JSON, SQL, scripting, and workflow orchestration.
- Support SDLC activities including requirements analysis, solution and design documentation, test case generation, automated testing, deployment support, and incident/problem analysis.
- Advance Conversational AI solutions from design through implementation, production support, and continuous improvement.
- Support RPA and hybrid automation initiatives by identifying automation opportunities and developing reusable enterprise solutions.
- Apply enterprise security, access controls, data privacy, responsible AI, logging, monitoring, and production support practices.
- Establish reusable AI and automation patterns, frameworks, and solutions that can be leveraged across enterprise initiatives.
- Collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders, coach teams, and influence practical adoption of AI and automation.
- Support responsible implementation of AI capabilities within established enterprise governance and data-handling standards.
Knowledge, Skills, Abilities
Required
- Minimum of 3 years of directly relevant experience in test automation, AI solutions, enterprise automation, or related technical disciplines.
- Hands-on experience designing and building test solutions, including test plans, dashboards, management frameworks, and automation.
- Hands-on experience designing and building AI agents, AI-enabled workflows, and automation using ChatGPT or comparable enterprise AI tools.
- Practical knowledge of prompt engineering, Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG), embeddings, tool use, AI evaluation techniques, and reusable prompt/agent patterns.
- Experience integrating AI and automation into enterprise applications and workflows using REST APIs, JSON, SQL, scripting, and workflow orchestration.
- Experience supporting SDLC activities including requirements, design documentation, test case generation, automated testing, deployment support, and incident/problem analysis.
- Knowledge of enterprise security, access controls, data privacy, responsible AI, logging, monitoring, and production support practices.
- Strong communication skills with the ability to work effectively with technical and non-technical stakeholders, coach teams, and influence adoption of automation and AI.
Preferred
- Working knowledge of JIRA and ServiceNow, including native AI capabilities and process automation use cases.
- Experience with enterprise AI platforms such as Microsoft Copilot, Claude, OpenAI, or Azure AI.
- Experience with automation and testing platforms such as Automation Anywhere, Power Automate, or TestComplete.
- Familiarity with complex enterprise environments such as PeopleSoft, Salesforce, Oracle, ServiceNow, and JIRA.
- Experience working within Agile delivery, DevOps, enterprise architecture, and change management environments.
- Experience establishing AI governance, observability, evaluation, monitoring, prompt catalogs, agent templates, playbooks, or reference architectures.
- Experience supporting large-scale enterprise AI, automation, or test modernization initiatives.
Education
Preferred
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Engineering, or a related technical discipline.
- Equivalent combination of education and directly relevant enterprise experience may be considered.
