Title: Senior Software Engineer

Location: South Park, San Francisco, CA

Hybrid work policy 4 days in-office

Salary: $170K - $230K

Job Description:

We are looking for a Senior Software Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join Ambra's founding team as engineer #4 or #5. You'll be an independent, product-minded builder who doesn't need a manager. Ambra just signed its first enterprise contract with the 3rd-largest ambulance agency in the US and just launched a second product, an ambulance scribe. You'll help the company scale as it builds vertical AI for EMS, starting with fixing the revenue gap in ambulance billing.

What will you be doing?

• Building new features end to end (~40% of the time), including voice agents that call payers and LLM pipelines that fight insurance denials
• Improving infrastructure and the backend, plus refactoring (~30% of the time), so systems hold up as enterprise volume grows
• Shaping the product with your own taste: deciding what to build, how it should look and feel, and why
• Working directly with EMTs, billers, fire chiefs and ops leaders to understand what they actually need
• Working in a flat team with no managers, where everyone gives feedback and picks up work from each other
