Job description

Title: Senior IS Program Manager

Our client is a large healthcare organization. Based out of Washington or Oregon, they are looking to hire a Senior IS Program Manager on a 12-month contract basis.

This is an opportunity for a seasoned enterprise program leader to take ownership of high-visibility strategic technology initiatives in a complex healthcare environment. The ideal candidate will enjoy leading multiple teams and workstreams, partnering with executive stakeholders, and navigating complex programs involving mergers, acquisitions, joint ventures, and divestitures. This role offers the opportunity to influence major organizational initiatives while driving governance, managing risks and dependencies, and delivering measurable business outcomes.
Contract Duration
12-month contract.
Occasional travel may be required.
Required Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • 10+ years of Information Services project and program management experience.
  • 5+ years leading large, complex enterprise programs.
  • Demonstrated experience leading technology workstreams supporting mergers, acquisitions, and divestitures, including due diligence, integration planning, separation planning, and cross-functional execution.
  • Healthcare industry experience.
  • Experience partnering directly with senior leaders and executive stakeholders.
  • Experience managing complex, multi-workstream initiatives involving vendors, business teams, and technology organizations.
  • Strong knowledge of program governance, portfolio management, risk management, and organizational change management.
  • Experience developing executive presentations, steering committee materials, and portfolio reporting.
  • Demonstrated success working within highly matrixed organizations.
  • Excellent communication, facilitation, negotiation, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Microsoft Teams, Copilot, SharePoint, and enterprise portfolio management tools.
  • Ability to work independently, manage ambiguity, and drive results with limited direction.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead complex enterprise strategic initiatives from planning through operational transition.
  • Develop integrated program plans, governance structures, and delivery roadmaps.
  • Coordinate multiple projects, IS workstreams, vendors, and stakeholder groups.
  • Align business, operational, clinical, and technology teams around strategic objectives.
  • Establish and maintain effective program governance.
  • Facilitate steering committees, executive reviews, and leadership forums.
  • Prepare executive-ready status reports, dashboards, and decision materials.
  • Identify and manage risks, issues, dependencies, and escalations.
  • Build trusted relationships with executive sponsors, key stakeholders, and vendors.
  • Lead cross-functional collaboration and decision-making.
  • Navigate ambiguity and competing priorities while maintaining program momentum.
  • Influence outcomes across teams without direct authority.
  • Support financial tracking, forecasting, resource planning, and portfolio reporting.
  • Monitor progress against milestones and strategic objectives.
  • Partner with organizational leaders to remove barriers and accelerate execution.
  • Support organizational readiness and change management activities.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Lead strategic enterprise technology programs and coordinate multiple workstreams.
  • Work closely with business, operational, clinical, and technology teams.
  • Facilitate executive meetings, steering committees, and leadership reviews.
  • Track program milestones, risks, issues, dependencies, resources, and outcomes.
  • Develop and communicate executive-level program updates.
  • Coordinate vendors and cross-functional stakeholders.
  • Identify barriers to execution and work with leaders to resolve them.
  • Maintain program governance and accountability.
  • Help guide complex initiatives from planning through implementation and operational transition.
  • Support organizational readiness and change management.
