The Terrace at Meadowbrook Care & Rehabilitation is seeking a compassionate and dedicated Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) to join our growing in-house rehabilitation team. Position Summary
The Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) works under the direction and supervision of a licensed Occupational Therapist to provide therapeutic services that help residents achieve their highest level of independence and function. The COTA implements treatment plans, monitors resident progress, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to deliver exceptional patient care.
Responsibilities
- Provide occupational therapy treatments as outlined in the resident's plan of care
- Assist residents in improving functional abilities, mobility, self-care, and activities of daily living
- Observe, record, and report resident progress to the supervising Occupational Therapist
- Instruct residents and caregivers in therapeutic activities and adaptive techniques
- Complete accurate and timely documentation
- Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to ensure optimal resident outcomes
- Maintain compliance with all state, federal, and facility regulations
- Participate in care planning and discharge planning activities
Qualifications
- Graduate of an accredited Occupational Therapy Assistant program
- Current Texas Certified Occupational Therapy Assistant (COTA) license in good standing
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Experience in skilled nursing, rehabilitation, long-term care, or post-acute settings preferred
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment
