ABOUT COLTON’S SOCIAL HOUSE
Colton’s Social House was built around a simple idea: restaurants can be about more than great food and drinks. They can be places where people connect, celebrate, unwind, and leave feeling a little better than when they arrived.
We call that Social Therapy.
Since opening in Clovis in 2016, we’ve continued to evolve while staying focused on scratch-made food, thoughtfully crafted cocktails, a rotating selection of local and craft beer, and genuine hospitality. But what happens around the table matters just as much as what we put on it.
Our team members are Social Therapists, and every role contributes to the experience. Whether you’re welcoming someone at the door, cooking their meal, crafting their cocktail, or keeping the restaurant running behind the scenes, the details matter.
We believe in raising the bar, owning the outcome, investing in growth, winning together, and never defaulting to “that’s not my job.” We’re looking for people who want to contribute, keep learning, and take pride in being part of something that is always working to get better.
Great food. Great drinks. Genuine connection. That’s Social Therapy.
SERVER – Read the Table. Own the Experience. Deliver Social Therapy.
At Colton’s Social House, serving is about more than taking an order and bringing food and beverages to the table. It’s about understanding the experience each guest came in for—and helping create it.
Some guests want recommendations and conversation. Some are celebrating something important. Some are catching up with friends, meeting for a first date, having dinner with their family, or simply looking for a place to unwind. Great Servers learn to read those differences and adjust their approach without sacrificing the quality, accuracy, or attentiveness of their service.
That’s Social Therapy.
Our Servers combine genuine hospitality with strong menu knowledge, situational awareness, organization, and urgency. They guide guests through our food and beverage programs, anticipate needs, communicate with the rest of the team, and take ownership when something doesn’t go as planned.
And their responsibility doesn’t end at their own tables. Great service happens when the entire restaurant works together—running food, maintaining the dining room, supporting teammates, and noticing what needs attention before someone has to ask.
You’re not just responsible for what gets delivered to the table. You help shape what guests remember about being here.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
Welcome guests genuinely and establish a comfortable, attentive experience from the beginning.
Read each table and adapt your service style to the guests and experience in front of you.
Learn our food, specialty cocktail, wine, beer, and non-alcoholic beverage programs and make thoughtful recommendations based on guest preferences.
Accurately take and enter food and beverage orders, including modifications, allergies, and other important guest information.
Guide guests through the menu, answer questions confidently, and communicate accurately about ingredients and preparation.
Serve alcoholic beverages responsibly and follow all applicable policies and procedures.
Maintain awareness of your tables throughout the entire experience, anticipating needs rather than waiting for guests to ask.
Pace courses appropriately and communicate with the Kitchen, Bar, Hosts, Bussers, and Management to keep service moving.
Run food and beverages—not only for your own tables, but wherever needed to support timely service.
Pre-bus, clear, clean, and reset tables and help maintain clean, organized, guest-ready dining areas throughout the shift.
Complete stocking, cleaning, opening, closing, and ongoing sidework responsibilities.
Handle payments accurately and follow all cash-handling and point-of-sale procedures.
Recognize guest concerns early, respond professionally, and take ownership of helping make things right, involving Management when appropriate.
Communicate and work closely with the entire team during both routine and high-volume service.
Notice where help is needed and step in—at Colton’s, there is no “that’s not my job.”
Protect the quality, consistency, and hospitality of the entire guest experience from arrival through departure.
COMPENSATION & SCHEDULING
In addition to hourly pay, Servers receive:
Daily cash tips through direct guest service
Servers also contribute to our restaurant’s tip-out structure, which supports other team members who contribute to the guest experience throughout service.
Full-Time and Part-Time opportunities are available. Evening, weekend, and holiday availability is expected.
Schedules are posted every Friday for the workweek beginning the second Monday after posting, giving our team advance notice to plan around their work schedule.
EXPERIENCE MATTERS. SO DOES HOW YOU USE IT.
Server is not an entry-level position at Colton’s. Previous serving experience in a full-service restaurant is required.
Knowing the mechanics of serving is only the starting point. We’re looking for Servers who can manage multiple tables without making guests feel managed, maintain accuracy while moving with urgency, communicate confidently about food and beverages, and recognize what needs attention beyond their own section.
Experience should bring more than speed. It should bring judgment, awareness, consistency, and the ability to make the people around you better.
Must be 18 years of age or older. * Previous Server experience in a full-service restaurant is required. * Strong understanding of full-service dining and the flow of a complete guest experience. * Genuine, attentive hospitality and the ability to comfortably interact with a wide range of guests and personalities. * Ability to learn and confidently communicate detailed food, cocktail, beer, wine, and non-alcoholic beverage knowledge. * Ability to accurately take and enter orders, modifications, and allergy information and follow established service procedures. * Strong organization, prioritization, and situational awareness in a fast-paced restaurant environment. * Ability to manage multiple tables and responsibilities while maintaining accuracy, urgency, and attention to individual guests. * Ability to recognize guest needs and concerns, problem-solve appropriately, and communicate when Management support is needed. * Willingness to run food, pre-bus and reset tables, clean, stock, complete ongoing sidework, and support areas outside of your own section. * Ability to remain on your feet throughout a fast-paced shift and safely carry trays, plates, beverages, and other restaurant supplies. * Must obtain and maintain required California Food Handler, Responsible Beverage Service (RBS) & Harassment Certifications within applicable onboarding timelines. * Availability to work evenings, weekends, holidays, and other shifts as scheduled.
