What is the Opportunity? Cembrane specializes in advanced Silicon Carbide flat-sheet membranes for water treatment. We are expanding production capacity at our Hutto facility, improving existing equipment, and increasing automation across our manufacturing processes. We are looking for a hands-on Mechatronics & Automation Engineer to improve equipment reliability, solve production challenges, and lead automation and equipment improvement projects.This role combines mechanical design, electrical troubleshooting, automation, process improvement, and project execution. You'll work closely with Production, Maintenance, Quality, and Engineering to improve uptime, safety, quality, and manufacturing efficiency. What is the role?Equipment Reliability and Technical SupportTroubleshoot equipment and process issues and implement lasting corrective solutionsPartner with Production and Maintenance to improve safety, reliability, and uptimeSupport preventive maintenance, equipment breakdowns, commissioning, and production ramp-upAutomation and Equipment ImprovementsLead automation and equipment improvement projects from concept through productionIdentify automation opportunities that improve safety, quality, capacity, and costManage equipment design, integration, suppliers, installation, testing, and handoverEnsure equipment is safe, maintainable, and production-readyMechanical Design and CADCreate 2D/3D CAD designs for equipment, tooling, fixtures, and componentsDevelop practical, manufacturable solutions that improve safety, quality, and productivityMaintain accurate engineering drawings and technical documentationManufacturing Process ImprovementsIdentify and implement process improvements that enhance safety, quality, efficiency, and costPartner with Production and Quality on root-cause analysis and corrective actionsConduct trials, validate results, and develop supporting process documentationCross-Functional CollaborationCollaborate across teams and with suppliers to resolve production and equipment issuesCommunicate technical issues and solutions clearly to all stakeholdersPromote ownership, accountability, and continuous improvementCommissioning and Project ExecutionLead equipment installation, commissioning, testing, and production handoverCoordinate internal teams, contractors, and suppliersSupport acceptance testing, training, and equipment documentationOther duties as assigned Does this sound like you?Bachelor's degree or technical qualification in Mechatronics, Mechanical, Electrical, Automation, Manufacturing Engineering, or a related fieldHands-on experience in manufacturing, equipment engineering, industrial automation, maintenance engineering, or machine designExperience troubleshooting both mechanical and electrical systems in a production environmentProficiency with 2D and 3D CAD and creating designs for fabricated or 3D-printed componentsWorking knowledge of sensors, motors, drives, actuators, industrial controls, and machine safetyExperience taking technical projects from concept through implementationStrong practical problem-solving, project organization, and communication skillsWillingness to work hands-on with equipment on the production floorPLC-controlled equipment, robotics, machine vision, control panels, or automated material handling (preferred)Equipment commissioning, machine modifications, fixtures, tooling, or prototype design (preferred)Furnaces, kilns, thermal processing, ceramics, chemical processing, or continuous manufacturing (preferred)Lean Manufacturing, root-cause analysis, and continuous improvement (preferred)ISO 9001 or similar quality-management environments (preferred) What we offer as an employerAt Ovivo, teamwork is at the heart of everything we do.
