MacOS Engineer

12-months contract

Position Overview: Onsite

Location: Columbus, OH or Plano, TX

Pay rate: $70 - $75

We are seeking a highly skilled MacOS Engineer to support and manage a large-scale Apple device environment. The ideal candidate will possess deep expertise in Workspace ONE UEM and Jamf, along with strong macOS application packaging and deployment experience. This individual will play a key role in endpoint management, security compliance, software deployment, and device lifecycle operations.

Responsibilities:

• Administer and maintain macOS devices through Workspace ONE UEM and Jamf, including enrollment, compliance policies, configuration profiles, and smart groups.
• Package, test, validate, and deploy applications across the macOS fleet.
• Troubleshoot device management, enrollment, configuration, and application deployment issues.
• Support endpoint security initiatives and compliance requirements within the macOS environment.
• Create and maintain documentation for packaging processes, deployment procedures, and operational standards.
• Partner with IT and security teams to support device lifecycle management and endpoint strategy.
• Monitor device health, compliance status, and deployment success metrics.
• Support automation efforts related to macOS administration and software delivery.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications

• Deep hands-on experience administering macOS devices using Workspace ONE UEM and Jamf.
• Strong experience with macOS application packaging, testing, and deployment.
• Experience managing device enrollment, profile management, compliance policies, and assignment groups at scale.
• Proven ability to troubleshoot MDM enrollment and endpoint management issues.
• Strong understanding of macOS internals, security frameworks, and operating system configuration.
• Scripting and automation experience in support of Mac administration.
• Experience working in fast-paced environments with changing priorities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience configuring macOS devices as thin clients or kiosk devices.
• Familiarity with AutoPkg and automated package workflows.
• Experience using Jamf Extension Attributes.
• Experience migrating endpoints between MDM providers.
• Experience customizing login workflows and session management for shared-use environments.
• Knowledge of endpoint reporting and monitoring platforms.
