Summary: The Mailing Operator is responsible for sorting, organizing, and prepping job tickets for US Postal pickup. While navigating computer software such as XJet and WinSurfer to manage job tickets, the Mailing Operator will load priority jobs into the Kirk Rudy InkJet Addressing and Tabbing Equipment machine to ensure completion of priority job tickets.
Schedule:
2nd shift, Monday-Friday, eight or more hours per day, five days per week based on business needs. Primary schedule will be 2:30 PM – 10:30 PM, or similar. Training may occur at other times. This is an on-site position requiring the employee to be present physically.
Salary Range: $19.00 To 22.00 Hourly
SUMMARY: Responsible for setup and operation of assigned equipment. Duties include leading helper/temporaries to maximize quality and production, with an emphasis on productivity, quality, safety, and good housekeeping.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
· Report to the Mailing Manager to receive instruction on assignments and to assist with various other duties.
· Analyze all aspects of each job based on information from the job ticket; develop plan to execute job, ensure job ticket instructions and specific process work instructions are completed correctly. Take corrective action as necessary.
· Communicate job instructions to the helper or temporary work team. Ensure that the team understands the job and is performing the tasks accordingly. Periodically check the product being produced by the work team.
· Set up, clean up and perform routine maintenance on a variety of equipment.
· Communicate job requirements to appropriate personnel at start and/or end of shift.
· Provide oversight, coaching and guidance for work team.
· Anticipate needs of work team (trays, skids, labels, etc).
· Prepare jobs for the post office.
· Understand all postage requirements pertaining to the jobs that mail.
· Assist in developing and maintaining schedules according to customer needs.
· When daily tasks are complete – move to bindery department to assist with meeting their schedule.
· Occasionally work overtime as requested in order to satisfy customer needs.
· Attend and contribute to daily huddle meetings.
· Set up, clean up and perform routine maintenance on assigned equipment.
· Communicate job requirements to appropriate personnel at start and/or end of shift.
· Perform general housekeeping duties in work areas.
· Maintain a safe work environment for self and other employees while performing job functions.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:
· Specific knowledge of printing, graphic arts and mailing gained either through formal study or job experience.
· Good written and oral communication skills.
REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be able to cooperate with co-workers and supervisors.
· Must be able to read and understand job tickets, mail tickets proofs and all other job related paperwork in English.
· Must have good decision making skills and a willingness to assume responsibility for the work produced by self and others.
· Must keep confidential matters confidential.
· Must be dependable and have the ability to pre-plan.
· Must look for ways to save money for Hopkins Printing and for our customers.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
· Must be physically able to stand for up to 12 hours, lift up to 50 pounds and work required overtime.
· The employee is required to stand on concrete and will occasionally be required to climb, stoop, kneel, crouch and crawl.
· Must be able to work in-person, in the plant, during scheduled work hours.
