Software Developer – Capital Markets / Trading
Location: Charlotte, NC
Work Arrangement: Hybrid – 2 days onsite
Employment Type: W2 Contract
Role Overview
We are seeking an experienced Software Developer with strong Capital Markets and Trading domain experience to support applications, risk systems, and market data platforms.
Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, test, and support applications, risk systems, and market data feeds.
- Develop primarily using Python and SQL, with C#/.NET as needed.
- Work with IBM MQ/messaging, APIs, and cloud technologies.
- Develop and optimize complex SQL queries and troubleshoot application/database issues.
- Collaborate with traders, business users, BAs, PMs, infrastructure, DBAs, and other technology teams.
- Support Front, Middle, and Back Office trading applications.
Required Qualifications
- 5–7+ years of software development experience in Capital Markets/Trading.
- Strong Python and SQL development skills.
- Hands-on experience supporting trading, brokerage, risk, or market data systems.
- Experience with C#/.NET.
- Strong understanding of software architecture, system design, and development methodologies.
- Excellent problem-solving, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple priorities.
Preferred
- Experience with IBM MQ, REST/SOAP APIs.
- Experience with AWS/Azure.
- Experience designing and architecting enterprise trading systems.
