Senior Manager, Database and Business Analytics

The Senior Manager, Database and Business Analytics will report directly to the CIO and lead the organization's database infrastructure and business analytics functions. This individual will bridge technical data management with strategic business insight generation.
The position is responsible for the health, security, availability, architecture, and performance of enterprise database systems. The Senior Manager will also oversee dashboards, reporting, business intelligence, and analytical solutions that support company-wide decision-making.
This role requires a hands-on technical leader who can manage database environments, guide technical teams and vendors, partner with business stakeholders, and translate complex data into actionable recommendations for executive leadership.

Responsibilities
Lead the architecture, administration, optimization, and performance of relational and/or NoSQL database systems supporting business operations.
Establish and enforce standards for database security, backup, recovery, and disaster recovery.
Manage database migrations, upgrades, integrations, and capacity planning to support organizational growth.
Ensure data integrity, availability, reliability, and compliance with applicable regulations, including GDPR, HIPAA, and SOX.
Evaluate and implement database technologies and tools that improve efficiency, performance, and scalability.
Promote and leverage AI solutions to accelerate project delivery and improve operational efficiency.
Direct the development of dashboards, reports, analytical models, and business intelligence solutions.
Translate raw data into actionable business insights that support strategic and operational decision-making.
Partner with executive leadership and department heads to identify KPIs and data-driven business opportunities.
Oversee data governance practices to ensure reporting accuracy, consistency, and reliability.
Lead root-cause analysis of operational and financial trends using data from multiple enterprise systems.
Drive the adoption of self-service analytics tools across business units.
Manage, mentor, and develop database administrators, data analysts, and business intelligence professionals.
Serve as the primary liaison between IT, database teams, vendors, executives, and business stakeholders.
Manage vendor relationships for database and analytics platforms.
Develop and maintain documentation covering database architecture, analytics processes, operational procedures, and data governance policies.
Present analytical findings, risks, opportunities, and recommendations to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Business Analytics, or a related field.
Master's degree is preferred.
At least seven years of experience in database administration, data management, and/or business analytics.
At least three years of management or technical leadership experience.
Experience leading technical teams, vendors, and cross-functional stakeholders.
Strong SQL skills and hands-on experience with data modeling and ETL processes.
Experience delivering database, reporting, dashboard, and analytical solutions within an enterprise environment.
Ability to work directly with business stakeholders to identify opportunities, define requirements, and deliver technical solutions.
