Certified Public Accountant (CPA)

Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced and detail-oriented Certified Public Accountant (CPA) to join our finance and accounting team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in public or corporate accounting, financial reporting, taxation, technical accounting, and financial analysis.
This role will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, supporting tax and compliance activities, preparing financial statements, conducting account reconciliations, and providing financial analysis to support business decisions. The successful candidate will be comfortable working across multiple accounting functions while maintaining a high level of accuracy and confidentiality.
An active CPA license is required.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, review, and analyze financial statements in accordance with GAAP and applicable regulatory requirements.
- Perform general ledger accounting, balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and month-end/year-end close activities.
- Manage and support federal, state, and other applicable tax filings and compliance requirements.
- Conduct financial analysis and provide insights to support budgeting, forecasting, business planning, and strategic decision-making.
- Support audit activities, internal controls, and compliance initiatives, including SOX requirements where applicable.
- Review accounting records and identify discrepancies, control issues, and opportunities for process improvement.
- Assist with budgeting, forecasting, financial planning, and cash-flow analysis.
- Support accounts payable and other core accounting functions as needed.
- Utilize accounting and financial systems to maintain accurate records and generate financial reports.
- Assist with financial due diligence, mergers and acquisitions, investment analysis, and asset management activities when required.
- Ensure compliance with applicable accounting standards, tax regulations, and financial reporting requirements.
- Prepare clear and accurate financial reports for management and other stakeholders.
- Collaborate with internal departments and external professionals, including auditors, tax advisors, and financial partners.
Required Qualifications
- Active Certified Public Accountant (CPA) license is required.
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field preferred.
- Proven professional experience in public accounting or corporate accounting.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP, financial reporting, taxation, general ledger accounting, and account reconciliation.
- Solid understanding of debits and credits, double-entry accounting, and financial statement analysis.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
- Experience with accounting software such as QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, or comparable platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong understanding of accounting controls, compliance, and financial reporting processes.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with tax planning and tax compliance.
- Knowledge of SOX, internal controls, and regulatory compliance.
- Experience supporting M&A, private equity, investment analysis, or asset management.
- Familiarity with estate planning, trusts, wills, or related financial matters.
- Experience with non-profit accounting.
- Manufacturing or other industry experience is a plus.
