Embedded Software Engineer

Salary: $80,000 - 110,000 per year
Requirements:
- Bachelors degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or a related field.
- 1–3 years of related work experience.
- Experience with embedded software development using C/C++, Embedded C, or other programming languages, and familiarity with interfaces such as CAN, SPI, I2C, USB, and UART.
- Strong communication, organization, and time-management skills, with the ability to identify and resolve issues with minimal oversight.
- Must be authorized to work in the United States and able to relocate to Springfield, Illinois, before starting.
- Preferred: experience with C/C++, Qt, Python, SQL, Linux development, computer graphics, build tools, and version control systems.
- Preferred: knowledge of machine-control software for heavy equipment, bare-metal programming or RTOS, embedded operating systems, modeling or simulation, and wired or wireless communication protocols.
- Preferred experience includes three years with Python, SQL, Linux development, or machine-control software design and development.
Responsibilities:
- Design, develop, test, debug, and implement embedded software and systems for agricultural equipment.
- Create clear code and supporting documentation, including flowcharts, layouts, diagrams, and charts.
- Use software-development tools and technical equipment to complete engineering work, including version-control, simulation, and debugging tools.
- Support production by developing programming devices, production-line testing systems, circuit-board tests, and test instructions.
- Contribute to embedded hardware design and development for new products.
- Prepare communication-protocol documentation for new products.
- Collaborate with teams across our organization.
