Position Summary
The Program Manager plans, coordinates, and leads the cross-functional program execution from development through qualification, production readiness, customer delivery, and sustainment. The position owns the integrated program baseline; provides objective visibility into schedule, cost, risk, dependencies, and decisions; and drives assigned commitments to closure. The Program Manager leads collaboration between Engineering, Product Management, Sales, Business Development, Finance, Operations, Quality, and Supply Chain, to meet program execution goals.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Create and maintain the integrated program plan, including scope, budgets, schedule, milestones, deliverables, dependencies, resources, decision points, and commitments.
- Monitor the execution baseline, critical path, forecasts, and variances; coordinate recovery actions with cross-functional team.
- Coordinate budget status, cost forecasts, and variance reviews with Finance and functional leaders.
- Maintain program risk, opportunity, action, decision, and change records; assess impacts and escalate unresolved issues.
- Lead recurring cross-functional reviews that communicate factual status, identify decisions, assign actions, and drives action items to closure.
- Coordinate readiness and timing for design reviews, prototype builds, verification, qualification, production-readiness reviews, and deliveries.
- Ensure requirements, baselines, decisions, changes, and program records are maintained in approved systems with appropriate traceability and configuration control.
- Coordinate transition to repeatable production, including documentation, materials, suppliers, tooling, test capability, quality planning, work instructions, and support readiness.
- Serve as the primary internal program-status interface and, communicate status, risks, impacts, decisions, and recovery plans to customers and partners.
- Support proposals, statements of work, estimates, contract reviews, and change requests with execution plans, schedules, assumptions, risks, and resource inputs.
- Coordinate supplier, partner, post-delivery, corrective-action, configuration-update, and sustainment activities with the cross-functional team.
- Promote accountability, disciplined decision-making, customer focus, teamwork, continuous improvement, and clear communication; perform related program-management duties as assigned
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in engineering, business, program management, operations, or a related discipline, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Typically, 8 or more years of progressively responsible experience in program management, engineering program leadership, operations, or delivery of complex technical products.
- Demonstrated experience managing integrated schedules, risks, dependencies, budgets or cost forecasts, and cross-functional commitments.
- Ability to understand and communicate technical, contractual, operational, and financial information of the program.
- Strong written, verbal, briefing, facilitation, negotiation, conflict-resolution, organization, and follow-through skills.
- Proficiency with Microsoft 365 and program planning/reporting tools; ERP, PLM, requirements, configuration-management, or CRM experience is beneficial.
- Preferred: experience with rugged computing, embedded systems, tactical communications, defense electronics, server platforms, networking, power systems, or electromechanical product development.
- Preferred: experience guiding hardware/software products through development, qualification, production launch, delivery, and field support; PMP, PgMP, or equivalent training is beneficial.
- Ability to satisfy applicable company, customer, export-control, information-security, facility-access, and travel requirements. Approximately 20 to 30 percent travel may be required based on program and customer needs.
