Business Data Analyst (Level 1)

Role: IT Business Data Analyst (Level 1)

Duration: 12 Months

Location: Austin, TX 78744

This position requires an onsite presence 4 to 5 days per week. Candidates must reside in the Austin area and be authorized to work in the United States.

Summary:

The client manages a range of technical projects-from SaaS and COTS solutions to large-scale software development and upgrades-under structured project management and governance processes. The selected contractor will support integration of security and operational components, assist with requirements gathering, financial planning, and coordination, and recommend process improvements.

This role is expected to actively use AI tools to streamline analysis, enhance documentation, and improve efficiency in delivering business analysis work. The contractor will collaborate and communicate regularly with stakeholders, project teams, technical staff, vendors, and executive leadership.

The workers responsibilities and skills must include:

Experience with reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business processes and systems and user needs.

Experience with general IT SDLC processes.

Experience with documenting detailed description of user needs and program functions.

Experience with documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.

Experience with mediating business units that may have conflicting requirements.

Ability to create and maintain several project artifacts including Business Requirements Document, Use Cases and User Acceptance Test Plan and Scripts.

Experience with collaborating with team members to understand organizational and operational challenges.

Experience with drafting statistical reports that assist decision-makers

Knowledge of Excel, Tableau, and other tools to perform data analysis

Experience with serving as a liaison between the business community and IT teams.

Experience with identifying, managing and mitigating project risks and issues.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Being a creative thinker to solve issues.

Team player with excellent interpersonal communication skills and documentation skills.

Minimum Yrs of Experience, Skills, and Qualifications

1 3 years of experience in the field or in a related area. Has knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures within a particular field. Relies on instructions and pre established guidelines to perform the functions of the job. Primary job functions do not typically require exercising independent judgment.

Years Skills/Experience

1-3 Years of Experience reviewing, analyzing and evaluating business processes and systems and user needs

1-3 Years of Experience with general IT SDLC processes.

1-3 Years of Experience with documenting AS-IS and TO-BE process flows.

1-3 Years of Experience in gathering both business requirements from business divisions as well as technical requirements.

1-3 Years of Experience with serving as a liaison between the business community and IT teams.

1-3 Years of Skilled in educating business unit staff on standardized processes.

1-3 Years of Possess strong verbal and written skills in communicating with peers and different levels of users including executive staff.

1-3 Years of Skilled in facilitating large group meetings with internal and external resources.

1-3 Years of Skilled in collaborating with the technical and functional teams to develop the Business Requirements Document, Technical Specification, User Acceptance Plan and Scripts

and other documents need in support of the solution.

1-3 Years of Experience with writing test cases and scripts that can be delivered to customers as well as provide support during User Acceptance Testing.

1-3 Years of Experience with Excel, Tableau, and other tools to perform data analysis.

1-3 Years of Experience with requirements gathering with the business team, fit/gap analysis and high level estimation of implementation effort.

Emphasized knowledge in requirements documentation, process mapping, stakeholder coordination, and risk awareness as core competencies at higher levels
