Position Summary
We are seeking a hands-on Software Engineer to help define the technical architecture and build an MVP for a global connected-vehicle privacy platform. The platform will enable customers to control data sharing while supporting regional privacy and compliance requirements.
This role combines backend or full-stack development, cloud architecture, API design, privacy engineering, and rapid prototyping. The successful candidate will work closely with privacy, business, research, and quality stakeholders to translate privacy requirements into scalable software capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Software Development & MVP Delivery
Design and build the MVP, including backend services, APIs, integrations, and a working prototype.
Lead development of an MVP/Proof of Concept to validate technical feasibility, user experience, and compliance objectives.
Write and review code, make technical design decisions, and resolve implementation challenges.
Apply secure development practices throughout prototype development.
Privacy Platform & Architecture
Implement privacy capabilities including consent management, data controls, and privacy-rights request workflows.
Translate privacy, business, research, and quality requirements into technical designs and prioritized development work.
Define an architecture that can evolve across mobile applications, customer portals, connected-vehicle services, and regional deployments.
Document key design decisions, assumptions, dependencies, and technical risks.
Collaboration & Product Evolution
Partner with privacy specialists and cross-functional stakeholders to ensure software behavior aligns with privacy requirements.
Evaluate technical options and third-party platforms where appropriate.
Support planning for the transition from prototype to production and enterprise-scale deployment.
Provide technical recommendations for the product roadmap and future platform evolution.
Required Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Systems, Software Engineering, Cybersecurity, Privacy, or a related field; Master’s degree preferred.
5+ years of hands-on software development experience with strong backend or full-stack development experience.
Experience designing and implementing APIs, services, and cloud-based applications.
Ability to write and review code, make architecture decisions, and deliver an MVP or Proof of Concept.
Ability to collaborate with privacy specialists and translate privacy requirements into software behavior.
Strong communication skills across engineering and non-engineering teams.
Preferred Qualifications
Practical experience with privacy-related products, platforms, or services.
Familiarity with privacy-by-design principles and regulations such as GDPR, CCPA/CPRA, or APPI.
Experience with connected products, IoT, mobile applications, or customer-data platforms.
Experience assessing third-party platforms or planning transitions from prototype to production.
Relevant privacy, cloud, or security certifications.
Expected Deliverables
Documented technical design and a working MVP/prototype.
Target-state architecture and technical design for the privacy platform.
Recommendations for the product roadmap and enterprise-scale deployment.
Ideal Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate is a hands-on software engineer who can move comfortably between architecture and implementation. Strong candidates will have backend or full-stack development expertise, experience building cloud services and APIs, and the ability to rapidly prototype privacy-focused capabilities while collaborating with technical, business, and privacy stakeholders.
